Dr Safvat works with a few select anaesthetists all of which are highly trained, fully qualified and accredited, Fellows of The Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), ensuring the highest possible care and safety for our patients. They have all worked with Dr Safvat for many years and he holds them in high regard for their skill, patient care and dedication.

Dr Andrew Hill - Dr Hill is a Specialist Anaesthetist with over 15 years’ experience in anaesthetics and critical care medicine in both the pre-hospital and hospital setting. He is a College Supervisor of Training for junior anaesthetists, and is a dedicated teacher and facilitator of junior medical officers, students and paramedics.

Dr Matthew Chiew - Dr Chiew works as a specialist anaesthetist in Sydney at St George, Liverpool and Campbelltown Public Hospitals and is also accredited at several private hospitals within Sydney.

Dr Kim Weng - Dr Weng is currently a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and an active member in Australian Society of Anaesthetists. He has teaching commitments and is appointed in various public and private hospitals as a senior specialist anaesthetist.

Dr Melissa Yee - started working in the Southern Highlands in 2014. Her current practice includes public work at Bowral and Nepean hospitals, and private practice at Southern Highlands Private Hospital. Her scope of practice is fairly broad, encompassing anaesthesia for plastic surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology, orthopaedics, urology, and general surgery.

BEFORE & AFTER ABDOMINOPLASTY (TUMMY TUCK)

Procedure: A full tummy tuck operation is designed to reshape the entire span of the abdomen. It works for people with significant amount of loose skin, subcutaneous fat, and stretch marks. It also tightens the abdominal musculature (that often stretches and separates after pregnancy) to flatten the contour, reduce any bulges, and give an hourglass appearance to the waist.

Scars: Scarring is an inevitable side effect of every type of surgery, including a tummy tuck. Everyone scars differently. Otoplasty surgery aims to reduce protruding ears by setting them back closer to the head. Depending on the shape of your ears Dr Safvat might also have to change the shape so they are more aesthetically pleasing. Generally, otoplasty is postponed until the ears have undergone most of their growth. This is usually around 5 years of age. The operation can be performed at any age after that, even in adulthood.

To complete the procedure, an incision is made behind the ear. The ear cartilage is moulded to achieve the desired shape of the ear. Skin and cartilage may also have to be removed as needed. The incisions and the resulting otoplasty scars are well concealed on the back of the ear. Any scarring will fade to almost invisible depending on skin quality. The average otoplasty procedure generally takes about two hours to complete.

It is important to remember that everyone's anatomy and concerns are different and the procedure may vary depending on each individual patients' needs.
