Today is World Autism Awareness Day

It’s a moment to recognise and value autistic people, while continuing to build understanding across our communities. For speech pathologists, this work happens every day.

Supporting communication is about more than speech. It’s about helping people express themselves, connect with others and participate in the world around them in ways that work for them.

The role speech pathologists play alongside autistic people, families and communities continues to evolve, with a growing focus on inclusive, person-centred and evidence-informed practice.

📣 Exciting news! We have got the keys to our brand new office/ therapy space! We are thrilled to join .missionbeach in delivering holistic care to our community!

🧘‍♀️If you haven’t already, head down to their new Wellness Hub for a whole body experience!

🚗 PSA: We will still continue with our mobile service, but we are enjoying having a space to call ours for clients to access also!

🎨We are busy settling in and decorating - watch this space for more reveals to come!

Due to the weather conditions, we have had to make the hard decision to cancel the Parents Information Session scheduled for this Friday 6th March. We will hopefully be holding this session at a later date for parents to know where and how to connect with services within the Cassowary Coast.

Today we said farewell to one of our very lovely AHA’s, Cedella! Our team won’t be the same without her while she is on maternity leave! 🍼

Cedella has been a nurturing, comforting and supportive therapist and we’re so grateful for the impact she’s had on everyone around her! 💕

Yesterday, September 11th, was R U OK DAY! 🖤💛

This day is a reminder for us that a conversation can make a huge difference. As speech therapists, we want to highlight that these interactions do not need to be a verbal conversation, but rather, checking in on others can be done through various forms of communication from a hand written note, a text message, a drawing or even a thumbs up/ down. 🌼

Let’s use our voices, our words, our actions, not only on R U OKAY day, but EVERYDAY, to remind others that they are not alone.
