Cassowaries are an iconic part of our region and today is a great reminder to do our part to keep them safe.
✅ Slow down & drive carefully in cassowary country – they can appear suddenly on the road.
✅ Never feed cassowaries – it’s dangerous for both them and you.
✅ Keep dogs secure – always behind fences or on a lead.
✅ Give them space – enjoy their beauty from a safe distance.
✅ Report injured cassowaries on 1300 130 372.
By coming together and doing our best to protect them, we’re not just celebrating the cassowary – we’re celebrating the lifeblood of the rainforest, the culture of our region, and the resilience of our community. 💚🌿

🕤 9.30am – Stalls, Environment Centre & Nursery open
🕙 10.00am – C4 Workshop: “When garden plants move into rainforest” with Terrain, Parks and C4 speakers. Bring bagged plant samples or photos for ID.
🕦 11.30am – C4 Annual General Meeting
🕧 12.30pm – Community BBQ Lunch
