💡 Future Thinking + Cyber Smarts!
As part of our Allied Health & Nursing Joint Forum, we were inspired by Daisy Wong from Future Crunch – a cybersecurity leader and disability advocate known for her bright pink wheelchair, matching hair, and even brighter leadership.

Daisy shared her vision of a future built on collaboration and inclusivity, and gave us practical cybersecurity tips to stay safe in an online world where what's real and fake are hard to tell apart.

A huge thank you to Daisy Wong, Future Crunch, and especially Justin McNeany from Keynote Entertainment for making it all happen! 🙌

🌟 Exploring Value Based Health Care at EPC 🌟
We were thrilled to welcome Dr Katharine See, Chief Health Outcomes Officer & Director of Respiratory Medicine at Northern Health at our Allied Health & Nursing Joint Forum.

Dr See shared an honest and inspiring look at Implementing Value Based Health Care – the successes, challenges, and surprises along the way. While the journey hasn’t been easy, the rewards for patients and staff at Northern Health are undeniable.

Her candid insights reaffirmed why EPC’s own journey toward Value Based Health Care is so important – and so worth it.

🥗 Food for Thought – Literally! 🧠
At our Allied Health & Nursing Joint Forum, Dr Tetyana Rocks from Deakin’s Food & Mood Centre shared fascinating research on the gut–mind connection and how what we eat can influence our mood.

Inspired by her talk, our staff kitchen has been serving up some gut-friendly goodness:
✨ Sweet potato & capsicum muffins with chickpea flour, cottage cheese & sunflower seeds
✨ Cocoa & beetroot muffins with a sneaky chickpea flour boost for extra legumes 😊

💻 It's Virtual Care Awareness Week 2025 (20-26 Oct)
Sometimes you need a check-in with your palliative care team but you don’t want another person coming through your home. That’s why EPC offers Virtual Visits, a secure, compassionate way to connect with your care team via a screen, from the comfort of your own space.

📊 Did you know?
Clients who use a mix of Virtual Visits and home visits are more likely to stay out of hospital and remain comfortable at home.
Virtual care is about choice, flexibility, and dignity—and it’s helping us support more people, more meaningfully, more often.
