Another great episode on The Empowered Parent Podcast with Paige Carter from Inclusive Oak. Her son Oak, who lives with PDA, is turning the corner and starting to initiate activities outside of his safe space.

The family has now packed up their home and living in their caravan.

I love this week's episode on The Empowered Parent Podcast.
I sat down with Sarah Lovett from OUR PDA Kids and Paige Carter from Inclusive Oak to talk about homeschooling options and the stages of burnout for our PDA children.
Sarah and Paige shared practical strategies and spoke openly about their own journeys.
It is a gentle, honest conversation that will help many parents understand what is happening beneath the surface for their child.
Definitely worth a listen.

From today, the disability parking permit scheme in South Australia has expanded to include a broader range of disabilities and conditions.

This is intended to modernise the scheme and better meet the needs of people with disabilities including those who are legally blind and those with a significant cognitive, behavioural or neurological impairment such as autism.

We want to say a big thank you and goodbye to our wonderful students Katie (OT) and Bella (SP) who finished their final placement with us last week and get ready to start their careers as graduate therapists.

They shared some lovely reflections about what they learned, including how important it is to include families in the therapy process, follow the child’s lead, stay flexible, and meet each child where they are. They also grew in confidence talking with parents about sessions, and practised naming and commenting during play to support connection.

We are proud of how much they’ve grown, and wish them all the best as they begin their work as therapists. ❤️❤️👩🏻‍🎓

My Therapy House is proud to partner with universities across South Australia to help train the next generation of Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists!

International Men’s Day is a good moment to honour the man who stands beside me and My Therapy House.

Craig Clarke is my husband, my rock and my confidant. My Therapy House is actually his childhood home. He opened it to children, parents and staff so it could become a place of safety, growth and connection.

This is a photo of us together throughout the years, always supporting each other and standing together.

Thank you Craig for sharing your home, your steadiness and your heart. My Therapy House would not be what it is without you.

This morning at a community services strategic planning workshop run by Donna Adams, our team spent time looking ahead to 2026 and the work we want to deepen at My Therapy House.

Our focus is to reach more children and families who need attuned, relationship based support. We have specialist skills in supporting highly sensitive children, children with a PDA profile, children with communication and regulation difficulties, and families navigating early childhood development. We also work closely with parents who are raising complex children and need steady guidance.

In 2026 we will continue to strengthen these areas so more families can access support that is calm, connected, and grounded in understanding.
