But progress does not just come from activity. It comes from the balance between load and recovery.

At Better Back Chiropractic, we often see people who are highly motivated and consistent with their exercise. That is a strength. However, when recovery does not match output, stiffness, recurring tightness or flare-ups can follow.

Your body adapts to the stress you apply, but it adapts during recovery.

Signs you may need more recovery

✅Persistent muscle soreness beyond normal training fatigue

Let’s stop it before it gets worse.

We’ve been seeing a lot of people lately with acute neck pain.
Stiffness, reduced movement, and headaches can all come from everyday habits.

The good news? Prevention really works 🙌
Here are 5 SIMPLE things you can do to protect your neck 👇

💻 Avoid screens in bed
Using laptops or tablets while lying down puts a lot of strain on your neck.

🪑 Set up your desk properly
Your hips should be level with or higher than your knees, feet flat on the floor, and your screen at eye level.

🚶 Stand up more often
Standing naturally improves posture. Try standing while on the phone or walking to speak to colleagues instead of emailing.

📱 Watch your phone habits
Swap ears when talking or use a Bluetooth headset to avoid “text neck”.

👐 Get your neck checked early
A few tight muscles or posture tweaks are much easier to fix before pain becomes ongoing.

Neck pain doesn’t have to stop you doing the things you enjoy.

Turning your head freely and moving without pain should feel normal.
