With the weather the way it is today, we’re spending the day at home catching up on paperwork.

One important task on the list is writing a character reference for another man ahead of his court case on Monday, and preparing ourselves to possibly be there with him on the day to offer support.

We’re also happy to share a positive update — the gentleman we were able to get off the streets is doing well, very well, which is always amazing to see and reminds us why we do what we do.

This is what GCS is all about, standing beside people when they need it most, offering practical help, guidance, and genuine support.

Sometimes helping the community happens quietly behind the scenes, but it makes all the difference. 💙

Today we have the privilege of helping a lovely local family take the first steps toward decluttering their home 💛

Decluttering isn’t just about tidying up, it’s about reducing stress, creating a safer space, and giving families room to breathe again. We worked alongside them, at their pace, with zero judgement, just support and encouragement.

Seeing the relief and smiles as spaces started to open up is exactly why we do what we do. Community is about showing up for each other, and today was a perfect example of that.

📣 BIG UPDATE, MOE! 📣
We have officially sent off our email to Latrobe City Council requesting to be heard at the next council meeting 🙌

So far, we already have over 80 signatures on our petitions, with more still to be dropped off across other suburbs, so a huge well done to MOE for standing up and showing your support 👏👏

We are truly hoping the council listens and gives us the opportunity to use the Moe Caravan Park or a similar location to help house homeless and financially struggling community members. This could be a life-changing step for so many people in our community.

💙 On another very positive note 💙
Yesterday we were able to help one of our homeless community members get off the streets and into a safe place. It was a massive day, for him and for us. Seeing the relief, happiness, and sense of safety was incredibly emotional, and we couldn’t be happier knowing he’s no longer sleeping rough and can finally feel secure.

This is why we do what we do.
This is what community looks like.
And this is only the beginning 💪💙

Today we received the most amazing note from a truly lovely lady 💛

Last week she shared a little bit of her story with us, and today she went one step further by donating hygiene products to help others in need.

Moments like this remind us how powerful it is when a community comes together. Kindness, support, and looking out for one another truly make a difference.

What an amazing day we’ve had today! 🙌
We’ve been out handing out more petitions, having meaningful conversations with community members, and supporting people doing it tough in the homeless community.

We may also have another upcoming court date where we’ll be standing alongside a person experiencing homelessness to offer support and help them through the process.

More donation tins going out also to the amazing community stores that back us!!!

At GCS, this is what we’re about — showing up, listening, and helping our community wherever we can. 💙

What does this mean?

👉 We are now fully mobile with our outreach services – we come to YOU.
Whether it’s support, resources, or a helping hand, our wheels are on the road and ready to roll 🚗💙

We are currently FULL on clothing donations, so we are no longer taking clothes at this time. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated – the support has been incredible 🙏

It’s a brand new week, which means new goals, fresh energy, and another chance to be the best version of yourself. No matter how last week went, today is a reset.

Remember, mental health matters. Take things one step at a time, be kind to yourself, and don’t be afraid to reach out if you’re struggling. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to keep moving forward.

Set your goals, chase them with purpose, and don’t give up. You are capable of more than you think, and this week is yours to make happen.

We want to take a moment to clarify the meaning and intention behind the petitions we currently have out.

The petition is about exploring a safe and practical housing option for people experiencing homelessness. Our idea is to work with council to secure a suitable location, such as a caravan park or an existing building, where a shelter could be set up for people to sleep safely. This would be a managed space, with security and people on site to maintain the area and ensure safety for everyone involved.

If the petition is supported and council approvals move forward, this would mean people are safer, off the streets, and have access to basic necessities such as showers, food, and shelter. The goal is dignity, safety, and support, not leaving people to fend for themselves.

The petitions are currently out in the community, and more will be placed out soon. If you support this idea and stand behind us, please head into your local shops and add your name. Community support is what helps turn ideas like this into real action.
