Ethical behaviour support means using the least restrictive approach possible, while always protecting a person’s rights and dignity.

It requires strict adherence to rules, regulations, and the NDIS Practice Standards, particularly in relation to restrictive practices. Ethical practice is not about convenience or control it’s about accountability, consent, and putting participants first.

When we treat behaviour as communication and act within ethical and legal frameworks, we create safer supports, stronger relationships, and better outcomes.

If you or someone you know need behaviour support we are ready to hear from you. 🙂

Myth: Challenging behaviour is “attention-seeking.”
Fact: Behaviour is form of communication.

Behaviours often tell us that someone needs support, safety, or new skills. When we take the time to listen and understand the why behind behaviour, we can respond with empathy and effective support, not judgement.
Positive behaviour support starts with understanding. 💙

Schema therapy looks at deep-rooted patterns formed in childhood.

Schemas are long-standing beliefs about:
-Ourselves
-Others
-The world

For example:
“I’ll always be abandoned.”
“I’m not good enough.”

Schema therapy blends CBT with attachment theory and experiential techniques to help people heal long-standing emotional patterns.

What a fantastic event yesterday, co-hosted with the team from Plan Partners and featuring guest speakers from Victoria Police.

This was an important one and bridged gaps across sectors, showing just how important it is for the NDIS sector to hear directly from Victoria Police.

By understanding how the Disability Portfolio operates and the role of Disability Liaison Officers, we gained a valuable perspective on how we can work more collaboratively with the Police to achieve better outcomes for the disability community. It was great to hear directly from a uniformed officer about their role as a Disability Liaison Officer.

A big thank you to everyone involved in bringing this session together!

Yesterday we celebrated Neurodiversity Celebration Week with our team.
We stepped away to spend time in the park, sharing food, exploring creativity through painting, and slowing down with meditation.

We painted representations of what neurodiversity means to us individually.

It was a simple but meaningful reminder that we can create space for different ways of thinking, expressing, and being and through this, we build stronger and more empathetic communities.

Neurodiversity is something to celebrate, support, and learn from.💙

Neurodiversity Week is a great reminder that there is no single “right” way for a brain to work. Neurodiversity celebrates the natural differences in how people think, learn, communicate and experience the world. Whether someone is autistic, has ADHD, dyslexia, or another neurodivergent way of thinking, these differences are part of human diversity and bring unique strengths, perspectives and creativity to our communities.

It’s a time to celebrate neurodivergent people, listen to lived experiences, and continue building understanding and inclusion so everyone feels valued and supported to be themselves — not just this week, but every day.

We’re pleased to share a short video walkthrough of our new Moonee Ponds office space.

It’s been fantastic settling into a workspace that supports collaboration, creativity, and the continued growth of our team.

We’re grateful to be in such a great environment and excited about the opportunities it creates for our therapists and our clients. We have several therapy rooms in-house.

We look forward to welcoming many of you here and hope to see you in the new space in the near future.💫

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day! This is a moment to recognise the strength, resilience, and achievements of women everywhere.

Across every industry, community, and culture, women continue to shape our world in powerful ways. From social change and political leadership to innovation in business, science, education, and the arts, their contributions drive progress for all of us.

Today, we celebrate the women who came before us, those leading change today, and the next generation who will continue pushing boundaries and redefining possibilities.

Let’s keep amplifying women’s voices, recognising their achievements, and working together toward a future where equality isn’t a goal, it’s the standard.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of psychological therapy that helps people manage intense emotions, build healthier relationships, and cope with stress in effective ways.

It focuses on four key skills:

• Mindfulness

• Emotional regulation

• Distress tolerance

• A way to maintain and improve relationships

DBT is now widely used to support individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional overwhelm.

Mental health tools matter, and DBT offers practical, teachable skills for everyday life.
