Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

By learning to notice our thoughts and ask questions about them, we can begin to understand whether they are helpful or unhelpful, and replace them with thoughts that are more realistic and supportive.

We’re excited to share that Neehara is now offering couples therapy at Solution Psychology.
Neehara works using the Gottman framework, a research-based approach focused on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and increasing understanding within relationships.
Couples therapy follows a structured process:
• A 90-minute joint session to understand your relationship and current concerns
• Individual sessions for each partner
• Completion of evidence-based questionnaires and assessments
• A combined fourth session to share feedback and develop a clear plan
• Ongoing sessions as required
This approach allows for a thorough understanding of the relationship dynamics before moving into targeted strategies for change.
If you’re navigating conflict, feeling disconnected, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, couples therapy may be a supportive next step.
Enquiries can be made via our website or by contacting our Client Relationship Team.

This week, our team has been supporting one of our school partners during a period of crisis within their community.

When moments like these arise, we don’t follow a script, we respond with care, flexibility, and presence. Our clinicians pivoted, stepped up, stepped onsite, responding with care and compassion to support the school community in the way that was needed, moment by moment.

This is the privilege of long-standing partnerships built on trust.

We’re proud of our team for showing up with compassion, professionalism, and quiet leadership. We hold the school community in our thoughts as they navigate a challenging time and we will continue to support them in the days and weeks to come.

With the new Psychology Board Code of Conduct coming into effect today we are shining a light on something many people didn’t realise: Psychologists legally cannot respond to google reviews, turn them off or encourage anyone to leave them.
It’s not avoidance, it’s confidentiality
It’s not silence, it’s professionalism
And it’s designed to protect the dignity, privacy and safety of the people we support.

Google reviews play a very different role in mental health than in other industries, and this new Code reinforces that boundary even more clearly.

Swipe through to understand why reviews work differently in psychology, how we uphold our ethical responsibilities at Solution Psychology, and what this means for you.

If you’d ever like to share feedback privately, you can always contact us directly. We’re here, and we’re listening.

Our Story

Melissa began her career as a psychologist in 1998 having completed her Honours thesis on ADHD and her Masters thesis on Autism and Asperger’s under the guidance and supervision of the amazing Prof. Bruce Tonge. Over the years Melissa has shared her expertise not only with her client community but with many of the psychologists she has trained and supervised. Melissa’s expertise is highly sought after by local Paediatricians, GPs and schools leading to high demand which prompted Melissa to open Solution Psychology as a group practice in 2012. Since then, Melissa has expanded her team and built a practice staying true to her strong values, being regarded as leaders in the field of paediatric psychology.

As director of Solution Psychology Melissa is proud to lead an amazing team of passionate psychologists whose core value is to make a difference in the lives of others. We are a team of professional and committed psychologists who aim to provide solutions in a warm and inviting space.

All psychologists at Solution Psychology are highly qualified, holding at least Masters level in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Our focus is primarily in working with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, families and schools. We are proud of our established relationships with paediatricians, GPs. schools and other allied health professionals.

Our director Melissa together with her team of psychologists have the unique ability of knowing how to effectively support children who are experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges in the home or classroom environment. Our solutions are all evidence based.
