There is something really special about supporting someone through cystic acne 💛

Not just because of that feeling when their skin finally clears but because of who they become in the process.

Cystic acne is rarely just “surface level.”

It’s inflammation.
It’s stress.
It’s gut-immune cross-talk.
It’s barrier dysfunction.

It’s often years of trying everything and feeling defeated.

So when a client tells me they’ve been acne-free for 8 months but but still come in because they love how their skin feels, and how calm they feel in the space .. that’s the real win 🏆

Because the goal was never just to “clear acne.”

It was to build resilient skin.
To regulate the nervous system.
To support the body from the inside-out and outside-in.
To create consistency instead of quick fixes.

And maybe most importantly to create a space where you feel safe and supported while we do it.

Skin health is a long game.
NOT a viral product.
NOT a 10-step routine.
NOT a one-off miracle treatment.

Just a well thought out, intentional and integrative approach over time.

If you’re feeling stuck with your skin right now, I see you. And there is another way.

Let’s talk about something that gets missed in skincare conversations… Your Make up 💄

And some people are not gonna like this . But even the most “clean”, “natural”, skin-loving formulas can become problematic when they’re old, contaminated, or poorly stored.

And even those of you using more natural “clean” formulas for your make up 👇

Natural makeup often contains fewer preservatives which is great BUT it also means it needs replacing more regularly.

Old makeup =
➡️ More bacteria
➡️ More inflammation
➡️ More breakouts
➡️ More “mystery” skin issues

Especially if you’re acne-prone, sensitive, or dealing with rosacea/perioral dermatitis.

My non-negotiables:
✔️ Clean brushes weekly
✔️ Replace creams regularly
✔️ Mascara every 3–6 months
✔️ Don’t cover up irritation

Your skin deserves better than a 3-year-old concealer 😅

If you’re struggling with stubborn skin and “doing everything right” sometimes this is the missing piece.

Save this 📌

Share with your makeup-loving friends
And tell me: what’s the oldest product in your bag right now? Honestly 👀💛

#2016
I kind of loved this trend, so here’s a little reflection on the year that was.

The year I stepped away from teaching Beauty Therapy to be a stay-at-home mum so I could soak up every moment watching my babies grow… and realised that staying home wasn’t quite 100% me.

The year of bangs. Loved them then hated them then loved them again.

The year of the side hustle. We set up and operated two Airbnb apartments in the city and hosted over 500 guests. This was a fun learning experience. I learned a lot of about business through this. Met some pretty awesome humans from all walks of life too.

The year I chose to return to study and follow my dream of becoming a Naturopath, with a vision of merging it with skin therapy one day.

The year of the best snacks that somehow disappeared off the face of the earth.

The year of beautiful friendships — some forever, some that gently drifted as life took us in different directions.

A year with no regrets. Every part of it shaped who I am today 💛

Vitamin B6 is one of those nutrients people often assume is pretty harmless but recent evidence has shown otherwise.

We’re now seeing a rise in B6-related neuropathy, even in doses previously thought to be “safe,” which has led to new TGA regulations coming into effect from 1 June 2027.

Here’s what that means in simple terms:
- Low-dose B6 (up to 50 mg) will stay over the counter
- Moderate doses (50–200 mg) will now require a chat with the pharmacist
- Anything above 200 mg remains prescription only

The biggest takeaway?

MORE IS NOT BETTER

Toxicity can occur when people unknowingly “stack” supplements, take B6 long-term without guidance, or use higher doses without clinical need.

Remember you can’t get B6 toxicity from food. This is purely a supplement-related issue.

In clinic, I take a very targeted approach with B6. I prescribe it only when it’s genuinely needed and in doses that support the body without overwhelming it.

If you’re taking multiple supplements or experiencing tingling, numbness, or unusual nerve sensations, please reach out or chat to your practitioner.

Your safety matters, and these changes are here to protect you 💛

One question I’m asked often is whether I’m a corneotherapist.
Because I’m both a naturopath and a skin therapist, people naturally assume that’s what I do and in many ways, the principles of corneotherapy absolutely align with the way I treat skin.

At its core, corneotherapy is simple but the main message is

Restore the barrier → the skin returns to balance.

I see this every single week in clinic.

When the barrier is functioning well, irritation softens, hydration returns, and skin becomes more resilient. It’s an invaluable framework for understanding how skin actually works.

But here’s the thing — I don’t practice it rigidly.

Every skin is unique. Every story is different. And sometimes, truly supporting someone’s skin means drawing from a wider toolkit.

My approach is always guided by the health of the barrier and the individuality of the skin of the person standing in front of me. My philosophy is simple

✔️Repair first
✔️Respect always
✔️Refine only when the skin is ready

When it comes to skin health, I don’t believe in choosing between internal or external care. I work with both, because your skin needs both.

As a naturopath and holistic skin therapist, my approach is intentionally integrative. I look at your skin through two lenses at the same time:

what’s happening on the surface, and what’s driving it internally.

I look deeper into your gut health, stress load, inflammation, hormones (when relevant), immune function, nutrition, and lifestyle. These systems directly influence the health of your skin.

Your treatments aren’t just facials, they’re deeply therapeutic.

Your protocol is layered and personalised. Think skin treatments + home care + herbs + nutritional medicine + dietary shifts + lifestyle suggestions…. These create changes that aren’t just visible, they’re sustainable.

Most people see a naturopath or a skin therapist.
Working with me means you receive both modalities in one place, in one journey, and with one practitioner who understands the full picture of your health and your skin.

Because skin issues are never just skin deep.
Your barrier, gut, nervous system all speak to each other. When we support the whole system that’s where real transformation happens.

Books are now open to new clients from February 2026. Send me a DM if you’d like to learn more 🌿

As a kid growing up in the 80s, I was always told never to eat chocolate otherwise I’ll get pimples and for such a long time, diet was a big part of why acne occurred. Then for some time it almost became an old wife’s tale and it was more about hygiene. But guess what guys? They were right!! well kind of anyway…

Now we have an abundance of science that has explored the link between nutrition and acne, and they’ve all pretty much come to the same conclusion. What we eat can directly influence inflammation, contributing to the onset of acne.

Swipe to to learn more about how diet contributes to acne and if you want to learn more check out my latest blog 💛

So how do you get that “glass skin” look? You know that skin that looks poreless, perfectly smooth, and almost reflective like a sheet of glass, no spots or imperfections?

Here’s the thing… real skin isn’t glass 🧐
It has pores, texture, little fine hairs, freckles, lines, and sometimes the occasional breakout. And that’s completely NORMAL.

What we see online is often filtered, edited, or taken under perfect lighting. And when we try to chase that flawless look, we can end up over-exfoliating, stripping our barrier, and doing more harm than good; sometimes even leading to inflammation and subsequently increased stress. And that’s the real enemy when it comes to skin health and premature aging.

📣 STRESS!! [saying it louder for the people at the back]

Healthy skin doesn’t mean zero pores or a flawless glow 24/7.

Healthy skin is calm, resilient, balanced, hydrated, and supported from the inside out.

So instead of aiming for “glass,” let’s aim for skin that feels comfortable, strong, and radiant in its own unique way.

Skin goals shouldn’t be about perfection but more about healthy, happy skin that’s uniquely you 🫶🏻

Part 1/2 — Rosacea is not just a chronic skin condition. It reflects what’s going on inside your body and it affects your entire being. And there are so many pieces to this very large and complex puzzle.

By caring for your gut, reducing inflammation, protecting the skin, reducing stress, and finding your own personal triggers you can reduce flares and feel more comfortable in your skin.

Swipe to learn a little bit more about Rosacea in a two part series that explores the skin condition and why it occurs and in part two, how to care for rosacea skin, looking at topical, nutrition and diet, herbs and supplements, and lifestyle factors that can help remission long term.

Happy first day of Spring!! 🤗 🌼 I think us Melburnians are especially excited as finally it’s time for our bones to defrost! 🥶

So let’s talk a bit about spring and specifically … 🤧 ALLERGIES and HAYFEVER 🫩 and while allergies can pop up any time of year, this season is their peak. Basically, histamine gets overexcited, think itchy throat, itchy eyes, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing and can even make your skin red, itchy, and reactive too.

The good news? With the right foods, simple lifestyle tweaks, and a bit of natural support, you can calm your immune system, reduce histamine, and actually enjoy the outdoors and sunnier months ahead ☀️🪴🌳 🌼💛 🤧

In the treatment room my approach is always about curiosity and a more gentle approach to skin health.

Sometimes I begin with intensive repair and nourishment. Other times, when your skin’s barrier feels strong and healthy, I may introduce gentle refinement or more advanced treatments to support and encourage healthy skin renewal.

For me the key is always individualization not following the latest trend, but choosing what feels right for you and your skin in this moment.
