Be Prepared or preapare to fail.

Using Injury Preventative measures before its to late, seek out an osteo, physio, myo, chiro and or S&C coach before you become sidelined, its all about prevention rather than management.

We're so focused on fixing injuries that we've completely overlooked preventative measures for injury.

Treating the root causes of sports injuries can prevent future strain, pain, and discomfort.

Be proactive in your injury prevention. Make sure you get the right care and treatment to keep you on the field this season.

DM me if you have any questions or concerns. đź“©đź“©đź“©

We all have to deal with injuries at some point in our lives. Most of these injuries will be anything from a stubbed toe, an ankle sprain, or catching the flu. But for athletes and those that are highly active, these small injuries can be much more than a nuisance. One wrong move or landing on an ankle which has been previously injured can cause it to reinjure and keep you out of sport for several weeks. This is why knowing how to train through injuries as an athlete needs to be a part of your bag of tricks if you're serious about becoming a great athlete.

Like anything else, training through injuries will require a bit of work. You need to determine which exercises are safe for you to perform and experiment with different ways of staying in shape and recovering from injury. Over time, you'll develop a routine that works for your body, but there will also be some trial-and-error involved. That said, the payoff is huge–you could end up coming back faster than you expected.

ARE YOU AN ATHLETE? YOU SHOULD USE REMEDIAL MASSAGE!

The benefits of using remedial massage as an athlete and the harm that can occur without it.

Remedial massage is the most frequently used massage. It is an integral part of the fabric of any athlete's life.

General population also needs remedial massage servicing to combat stress related illness which may occur as a result of daily work or at home. Massage is an integral part of human physiology, helping balance the body and promoting physical fitness.

Massage helps in healing by improving muscle function, relieving tension and stimulating blood flow.

Skipping regular remedial massages can cause athletes to experience a number of health problems, including:

• muscle spasms and cramps
• joint stiffness and swelling
• neck pain, knee pain & back pain
• nerve problems like numbness in the hands or feet

Remedial massage is a great way to keep up with progressive exercise, it's an essential part of injury prevention and it can be used to boost performance. Massage shouldn't be skipped just because you're late to the gym—it could be saving your workout.

Health care practitioners and coaches must work together for the best interest of their clients.

There's a lot to learn in this industry and if you close yourself off from furthering your own education through others in the industry, you're not only holding yourself back professionally, but you're also holding your clients back from succeeding to the best of their abilities.

TRAINING RECOVERY!
Recovering from training is important for muscle tissue as well as for strength building!

When looking at recovery, all aspects of your life should be monitored.

▪️Sleep
▪️Stress levels
▪️Diet
▪️Movement

These are a few of the metrics in your life that you have some control of and are the ones that will play a vital role in Training Recovery.

Soft Tissue / Remedial Massage IS a form of stress on the body but is a service that can aid in recovery.

INTENT IN YOUR WARM UP:

How does one approach the bar for a new max squat?

How does one approach a heavy set of 5's on a deadlift?

Hopefully with intent!

WHY DONT WE HAVE THE SAME APPROACH TO A REGIMENTED WARM UP ROUTINE?

Having a regimented warm up routine in place to help you execute your lifts to the best of your ability seems simple and obvious. And, yet no one is placing an importance on it.

HOW PREPARED ARE YOU?

An intentful warm up should be as purposeful and as specific as your training.

Those who understand the importance of pre-movement warm ups understand the benefits of injury prevention. Beginners, in particularly, need to be aware that their specific warm ups need to be treated the same or similar to the lifts they plan on performing that day. Their warm ups shouldn’t be neglected.

It’s important that we develop an understanding of how to cue muscles effectively, especially when some muscles may be weak or weaker.

All of this needs to be executed with focused effort and should never be rushed through. Always approach your warm up with the intention to perform better on your subsequent lifts.
