Happy NAIDOC week!

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth (source: naidoc.org.au).

Happy International Women’s Day to all the fabulous women I know and the many more I do not! We are all fabulously unique, special and valuable and don’t forget it!! Wahine Toa ❤️

Today is International Women’s Day. Let’s celebrate the achievements of women and raise awareness of gender inequality against women and girls.

Each of us can actively support and promote gender equality in everyday life and digital spaces by speaking to our friends and family about:
• the importance of having more women in leadership
• supporting financial empowerment, and
• encouraging full participation in all areas of life.

Improving access to opportunities and pathways for all is key for a more equal future.

I strive to be aware of, and support my clients, in a truly trauma informed manner. I see the impacts of trauma in some form in nearly every client I work with.

Trauma is not limited to a specific set of experiences. It can arise at any age and can happen to anyone who has experienced something extremely distressing. Understanding potential triggers of trauma symptoms can help you identify if you may be experiencing trauma. Many people believe it is taboo to talk about mental health but the first step is to change the narrative around the topic. Once we start treating mental health the same way we treat physical health, then we can start to heal.

Caring for someone with a disability (physical or psychosocial), health condition, or frail aged is a tough gig. I always recommend those in a caring role reach out to the Carer Gateway to discuss their situation and unique needs, to ascertain what support they could access.

You may be looking after someone who is living with dementia, mental illness, disability, terminal illness, a chronic condition, an alcohol or drug-related p...

The Festival of Lights in my home town of New Plymouth, New Zealand. An exciting experience I always looked forward to as a child and as an adult and something I now miss each year. What and amazing addition to have dedicated tours for those with sight impairments, to ensure inclusivity and access!

Dylan is a great voice for people with disabilities (PwD) and he has achieved so much in advocating for the rights, worth and capabilities of PwD!
As a service provider in the NDIS space I strive to support PwD to live a life of their choosing through breaking down barriers and walking alongside them in their goals.

After having this book on my ’to read’ list for ages I’ve finally gotten around to starting it and am enthralled with it. As someone who has always struggled with scientific concepts, the author explains brain functioning and holistic impact of trauma in a way I understand 😊
Also very excited to attend Bessel Van Der Kolk’s 2 day trauma training in Brisbane early next year!

Hi all, Meredith here from Full Full_Phase_Therapies. Thank you to those that have previously liked the business page I created a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I had accidently created that page as a 'group' instead of a 'page' so whoops....I will be deleting that group in a couple of weeks and this page will be my only business page. I will be ready to take private clients on in the new year but please feel free to touch base sooner if you want to discuss anything!
