Days like this remind me why I started With A Little Care — real connection, real support, and genuinely getting to know the people we’re here to help.

What a DAY our team and participants had! 💛🎢

We headed out to Dreamworld and made the absolute most of every moment — and wow, it did not disappoint!

From the second we walked in, it was smiles all around. We kicked things off with a fun The Wiggles show, where we also got to meet Wags the Dog and Dorothy the Dinosaur 🥹

We explored Tiger Island, snapped some photos at the iconic Dreamworld globe, and soaked up all the excitement around the park.

The fun didn’t stop there…
🎡 Ferris wheel rides
🎠 Merry-go-round laughs
🎮 Time spent in LEGOLAND Dreamworld
🎢 Big thrills on the The Claw and Steel Taipan
🍌 And even meeting the Bananas in Pyjamas!

One thing we really want to highlight is just how incredible Dreamworld’s accessibility is. From ride access support to inclusive facilities and thoughtful staff, it makes days like this not only possible — but truly enjoyable for everyone involved. That matters so much to us and to the people we support.

Days like today are what it’s all about — building confidence, creating memories, and making sure everyone has the opportunity to experience joy, connection, and a little adventure 🌟

🌻 Not all disability support is the same. And the difference can change someone’s entire day.

A truly great support worker does much more than help with tasks. They understand how to support independence, respect choices, communicate effectively, and create a safe, empowering environment.

Good support means:
🌻 Encouraging independence, not taking over
🌻 Respecting the person’s rights and choices
🌻 Recognising when someone needs extra support
🌻 Building confidence and life skills

Being a disability support worker isn’t “just a job.” It takes patience, emotional intelligence, skill, and ongoing learning to do it well.

And the truth is, the person who walks through the door to provide support can completely shape someone’s experience that day.

A great support worker can help someone feel capable, confident, and included in their community.

Support with daily life isn’t about taking away independence - it’s about making independence possible.

For many people living with disability, everyday tasks can take extra time, energy, or support. Things like cooking meals, keeping the house organised, getting to appointments, or managing personal care.

The right support can help make those things easier, while still keeping choice and control in your hands.

Good support should always be built around you:

✔ your goals
✔ your preferences
✔ your pace

When people have the right support in place, it can mean less stress, more confidence, and more time for the things that bring joy and connection.

3 years ago today! 💛🐴

As you can see, we had a HUGE weekend!
We proudly sponsored the EWD Equestrians with Disabilities High Point award at Burpengary Western Performance Club Inc.‘s jackpot show this weekend, and we’d love to present to you our winner! Cate Jefferis and her beautiful little mare, Queenie, showed and rode flawlessly all weekend and as you can see, they cleaned up!

Between two judges, they placed:
- 2nd and 2nd in Showmanship
- 2nd and 1st in Western Trail
- 1st and 1st in Horsemanship
- 1st and 1st in Hunt Seat Equitation
- 1st in Western Dressage with the overall highest percentage scored in dressage all round (this wasn’t an EWD class!)

We were so very pleased to present Cate with more ribbons than we can count, a personalised embroidered bridle bag, and a stunning trophy buckle. We are so proud of Cate for her efforts this weekend and we can’t wait to support her at the next show in May!
