At Beachside Exercise Physiology we invest in advanced performance technology so progress isn’t guessed, it’s measured. Our assessment tools allow us to objectively track strength, balance, and functional improvements over time, giving both our clinicians and clients clear, data-driven insight into results. This means we can tailor programs precisely, monitor recovery or performance gains, and show real progress, not just rely on how things feel.

Meet Sierra, 👋

Sierra enjoys working with people living with complex chronic health conditions.
With lived experience in dysautonomia, including POTS and orthostatic intolerance, we are privileged to have Sierra to be so open with her experience and understanding the impact these can have on individuals and families and the benefits that exercise can have to provide individualised care.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find her enjoying Pilates, hunting down the best tiramisu and exploring new places with her family ☀️

Exercise is one of the most powerful tools for managing diabetes — it helps lower blood glucose, improves insulin sensitivity, and supports heart health.🥇

But diabetes isn’t just about moving more. It’s about how exercise, food, medication, and blood sugar interact.

A Diabetes Educator helps by:
• Making exercise safer (reducing hypos & glucose spikes)
• Teaching how to adjust fuel & meds around workouts
• Helping clients understand their glucose patterns
• Reducing fear and uncertainty around exercise
• Supporting sustainable, long-term behaviour change

When Exercise Physiologists + Diabetes Educators work together, clients get better glucose control, safer training, and more confidence — not guesswork.

Because exercise works best when it’s personalised, informed, and supported 💙

Have you ever wondered why we program both upper and lower body exercises, even when your injury is in just one area?

In many cases, the injured area isn’t the root cause of the problem. Injuries often occur due to overloading, which can be the result of a strength or movement deficiency elsewhere in the body.

That’s why at Beachside Exercise Physiology, we take a whole-body approach to rehabilitation.

Through functional strength training, we prepare your body for real-life demands — helping you return to everyday activities safely and pain-free. Think carrying groceries, unloading the dishwasher, or hanging out the washing. These movements require coordination, strength, and stability from the entire body.

Rather than isolating a single joint or muscle, we prescribe full-body strength programs that support injury recovery while improving how your body moves as a whole.

Our goal is to design exercises that reflect your lifestyle and daily movement patterns — addressing the factors That may have contributed to the injury in the first place.

Exercise physiology aims to not only fix the pain but prevent the injury from coming back.

You might be sick of hearing “shoulders back and down” even when not doing an upper body focused exercise but it can be a very important cue to use in all different movement patterns, as correct shoulder placement can impact the movement further down the chain.
For all these exercises cueing the shoulders also helped:
- core activation
- spinal articulation
- anti flexion
- better pelvic stability
- movement pattern control
