How to Model Without Pressure

Ever feel unsure about how to help your child say new words? Here’s a simple tip that takes the pressure off both of you 🌈

Instead of asking your little one to “say it again,” or ‘say car’ try this:
👩‍👧 Child: playing with a car
👩‍⚕️ You: “Car! I see the car driving so fast!” 🚗💨

By saying the word naturally, you’re showing them how it sounds — no stress, no pressure, just connection and fun. Every time you model a word, you’re helping their language grow ❤️

As speech pathologists, we know the power of communication. Sometimes it’s not about having the perfect words, it’s about showing someone you care and being willing to listen.

✨ You don’t need to fix someone’s problems.
✨ You don’t need to have all the answers.
✨ You do need to ask, “Are you OK?” — and really listen.
