Brodee visited for her regular Laser Genesis maintenance treatment with Holly, targeting rosacea and hormonal breakouts.

We introduced a purifying peel with salicylic and azelaic acid to calm inflammation, reduce breakouts and gently exfoliate to clear congestion.

Skin cancers are particularly common on the scalp and hairline, as these areas are often exposed to sun but easily missed when applying SPF.

Alana presented with a solar keratosis along her hairline on the scalp. While it does not currently show features of a skin cancer, lesions like this should always be monitored and treated as solar keratoses can sometimes develop into squamous cell carcinomas if left untreated.

In this case, diathermy treatment was used to remove the rough, scaly skin and treat the sun-damaged area. Treating these lesions early helps reduce the risk of them progressing into something more serious.

Regular skin checks, sun protection, and early treatment are key to maintaining healthy skin especially in areas like the scalp and hairline that are often overlooked.

Your hairline is one of the easiest places to miss when applying sunscreen and one of the most common areas we see solar keratoses.

Solar keratoses appear as rough, scaly patches caused by long-term UV exposure and should always be assessed by a professional.

Simple habits can help protect this area:�- Move your hair part regularly�- Apply sunscreen right up to the hairline�- Watch for rough or persistent patches that don’t heal

Early detection is key when it comes to skin cancer.
