🧡What an absolute honour to welcome Jean Kittson to our Annual BYS Summer Luncheon.

Jean captivated our guests with her heartfelt, light-hearted (and at times deeply thoughtful) reflections on ageing and dying. With honesty and humour, she reminded us that Specialist Palliative Care should be part of the conversation when facing a life-limiting illness — and that it can sit alongside active treatment.

She spoke about not fearing death, having conversations with loved ones, and the benefits that can be gained when you ask for support, even if you think you have it covered.

Guests were then treated to 20 minutes of Q&A, where Jean’s take on the “sandwich generation” had the room in stitches.

Thank you, Jean, for your generosity and wisdom. And thank you to every guest and local business who supported the day.

Funds raised go directly to supporting our clients and their carers, delivering Specialist Palliative Care at home. 🧡

Meet four beautiful members of our Allied Health Team.

Our Counsellor Case Workers work alongside clients and our nursing team to deliver holistic, Specialist Palliative Care. Through one-to-one support and education, they help make it possible for people to stay at home for their care — where around 70% of Australians say they would prefer to be. Peninsula Home Hospice ensures people are supported, heard and cared for in a way that reflects their values and choices.
