A beautiful Life Funerals is honoured to present 'A coffin Weaving Workshop with Zimmi Forest' in January 2026
During this two day, hands on workshop, Zimmi Forest will facilitate and instruct participants on how to weave a beautiful coffin and shroud bearer from Cats Claw Vine. This is an invasive species and will be sourced and harvested locally for this event. We'd love you to join us at Wangat Lodge, Bandon Grove via Dungog on the 29th Jan and 1st Feb 2026. Two nights accomodation on the beautiful Chichester River and nourishing shared evening meals make for an unforgettable event.

It is an honour and a privilege that words can’t explain. My heart is full of gratitude and your trust is never taken for granted. Today we are opening our Dungog office / meeting space :) Please pop in and say hi if you are in town. Open between 10 and 2 at 216 Dowling Street Dungog. We are overwhelmed with the number of beautiful local people reaching out to be involved. Together we will continue to create heartfelt and affordable ceremonies and memorials for our families. Thank you to all the families who have trusted us to care for their loved one in the last 7 months in Morpeth ❤️

Today has been a very special day ❤️ This beautiful, loved filled, nature loving family called me on Sunday afternoon after their treasured wife, sister, mumma and dear friend had taken her final breath a few days after a devastating stroke 😔 She was young… They wanted to take her home and it has always been a dream to help facilitate this for our families. With a cooling plate and a whole lot of extraordinary love from her family and friends she stayed at home until this morning. We shrouded her and placed her gently into her coffin decorated so lovingly by family and friends who visited their home over the last four days. It took my breath away….
We carried her to my van and then we all travelled to the Crematorium playing a playlist of her favourite music 🎶 for her final journey. It was heartfelt and family led every step of the way and has left me contemplating how we can make this a reality for other families who might like to tread this unbelievably beautiful path also ❤️

I have learnt over the last six months how important it is to think about your venue for ceremony! When someone you love passes there are a lot of decisions to be made while you are under a lot of pressure and often in shock and at the beginning of your grieving journey. It’s tough! Have you thought about where you would like your ceremony? My husband says “In the bush” 🩵 We held Mums Ceremony at her favourite restaurant Can I encourage you to think outside the square….. at A Beautiful Life Funerals we can hold your ceremony anywhere :) Let’s be creative. Let’s honour your loved one in a place they loved ❤️
