✨ Christmas magic is shining bright! ✨
One of our amazing SIL participants (you know who you are 😊) created this beautiful Christmas light display at their home, and it’s been bringing smiles to everyone who visits. 🎄💡
They’ve also been spreading extra cheer by handing out candy canes to staff, visitors, neighbours, and families — a small gesture with a big heart. ❤️
Moments like these remind us what community, inclusion, and independence are all about. We’re so proud to support our participants to share their talents and joy with those around them this festive season.

🌿 Gardener Wanted – Clarendon 🌿

Pearson’s Farm & Animal Rescue is looking for another gardener to join our team on our beautiful 20-acre property at Clarendon.

We recently advertised and welcomed a new gardener to the team, but we are still looking for an additional gardener to work alongside our existing team, helping us keep the farm and gardens thriving. You will be well supportive by our Farm Manager Deb and the rest of the team.

What you’ll be doing

🌱 Caring for our extensive veggie garden and stone and citrus fruit trees
🌱 General gardening and property maintenance
🌱 Pruning, planting, mowing, and garden care
🌱 Working across beautiful outdoor spaces
🌱 Mostly independent work — but always backed by a great team
🌱 Opportunity to grow into gardening or educational groups (NDIS-related)

You’re probably the one for us if you

✔ Love people, plants, and the outdoors
✔ Are honest, reliable, and easy to work with (this is very important to us)
✔ Can work independently and take initiative
✔ Are a friendly team player
✔ Have gardening or landscaping experience (qualifications or hands-on)
✔ Hold a driver’s licence

The practical stuff

🕗 Ideally around 37 hours per week, though part-time arrangements can be considered
🌞 Hot days = earlier starts (from 7:00am)
💰 Pay dependent on qualifications and skills
📄 Gardening & Landscaping Services Award
📍 Location: Clarendon
📅 Casual to start, with the option to move to permanency after 6 months

🌿 Are you interested in gardening or learning how to grow fresh organic foods?
🌱 Want to learn how to plant veggies in raised garden beds, care for chickens, collect fresh eggs, and build real-life outdoor skills?

If you have an NDIS plan with Core Supports (funding for a support worker), then our Farm Skills Program at Pearson’s Farm is the perfect place for you!

Using your regular Core funding — at no higher rate than community access — you can come to the farm and learn practical, meaningful skills in a supportive and fun environment. Our mentors will guide you through:

✔ Growing veggies in raised garden beds
✔ Caring for chickens and collecting eggs
✔ Understanding sustainable and organic gardening
✔ Building independence, confidence and daily living skills
✔ Enjoying the peaceful outdoor farm environment

Our HIGHLANDS & FRIENDS EXPERIENCE is under way!

This morning saw our first of many Highlands & Friends Experience kicking off at Pearson's Farm, with families all around Adelaide, including as far as Tea Tree Gully, coming to spend time with our gorgeous animals and to learn more about our rescue farm.

From feeding the Valais Blacknose Sheep, to picking Blackberries from our gardens to sample, followed by feeding various animals such as the Chickens, Miniature Ponies, and Large Horses, Kevin Bacon the Pig, to our Highland Cows. It has been an adorable and highly educational session for the children and their parents.

With the high interests and limited spots available, we have opened up another date - Monday 22nd Dec from 10am to 12pm!

We’re searching for someone who gets it — someone who truly understands how to engage participants using creativity, clinical skill, connection and a whole lot of heart.

🏡 PAHS House Hackham – our purpose-built OT space measuring 15 metres by 7.5 metres, giving you room to run creative therapy setups. The house has a huge kitchen and laundry to teach functional life skills.
🐾 Our new barn – opening after Christmas, designed for nature-based and animal-activities- think of the animals as the motivators to get participants to engage.
🏥 Our Morphett Vale Clinic – complete with a designated ball pit room for structured, sensory-rich therapy activities

✨ Participants can run, climb, explore and discover
✨ Nature becomes a sensory playground — sand, mud, water, trees and open space

Meet the Highland cows & Friends at our Clarendon Farm:

We’ve had so much interest in our Meet Our Highlands & Friends experience that we’ve created a special Christmas farm outing for families! This event is open to everyone — it is not connected to the NDIS, just a magical chance for kids and families to visit the farm and meet some of our totally adorable animals in the lead-up to Christmas.

Come and cuddle our Highland calves, meet our Valais Blacknose sheep, say hello to the ponies, donkeys, kangaroos and many more of our beautiful rescue animals.
It’s the perfect opportunity to take some gorgeous Christmas photos and make special holiday memories.

And the best part?
Every dollar raised goes directly back into caring for our animals — we are a registered animal rescue charity. A festive family day out filled with cuddles, photos, learning and lots of smiles.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas at our head office!

With only 2 weeks to go until the big day. Jean is really looking forward to spending time with the family, Vincent is eyeing the good food and hanging with friends, and Mike is dreaming of sunny days at the beach to relax.

Don't forget, our head office will close from the 24th December, and reopen on 2nd January!

Today we opened the farm for a special Christmas party for the participants who live in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) houses.

It was an absolutely beautiful day. Families came together, the sun was shining, everyone was happy, and there was plenty of joking and laughter. There was so much food, with most people heading off for tours around the farm in between eating. Our Highland calves also made a surprise appearance and completely stole the show—everyone loved patting them and taking photos. Seeing everyone relaxed, smiling, and enjoying the animals was truly heart-warming.

But the best part of the day was the connection. Our SIL participants do regular activities together and have formed wonderful friendships. Seeing everyone happy, chatting, and supporting one another—and hearing families talk about how settled and content their loved ones are—reminds us why we do what we do.

We want to thank our beautiful participants and their families for coming and celebrating Christmas with us—and of course, who could forget our amazing staff, who go above and beyond to ensure our participants have the most wonderful Christmas experiences. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Christmas at the farm has become such a special tradition, and this year was our biggest and happiest yet. We can’t wait to make next year even more magical.

At Pearson Allied Health Services, we are passionate about providing high quality and accessible programs and services to children, young people and adults with disabilities in the Adelaide Metropolitan area and regional areas. We work closely with our participants and their families to tailor our programs and therapies to meet the unique and individual needs of each person. Using a person-centred approach, we involve the individual and their family or support people in the planning process to ensure all individuals understand how we will be working to achieve your goals.
