Meet the Highland cows & Friends at our Clarendon Farm:

We’ve had so much interest in our Meet Our Highlands & Friends experience that we’ve created a special Christmas farm outing for families! This event is open to everyone — it is not connected to the NDIS, just a magical chance for kids and families to visit the farm and meet some of our totally adorable animals in the lead-up to Christmas.

Come and cuddle our Highland calves, meet our Valais Blacknose sheep, say hello to the ponies, donkeys, kangaroos and many more of our beautiful rescue animals.
It’s the perfect opportunity to take some gorgeous Christmas photos and make special holiday memories.

And the best part?
Every dollar raised goes directly back into caring for our animals — we are a registered animal rescue charity. A festive family day out filled with cuddles, photos, learning and lots of smiles.

Please EMAIL US at support@pahs.com.au to register your spot, and we will send you our booking and waiver forms.

It's starting to look a lot like Christmas at our head office!

With only 2 weeks to go until the big day. Jean is really looking forward to spending time with the family, Vincent is eyeing the good food and hanging with friends, and Mike is dreaming of sunny days at the beach to relax.

Don't forget, our head office will close from the 24th December, and reopen on 2nd January!

Today we opened the farm for a special Christmas party for the participants who live in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) houses.

It was an absolutely beautiful day. Families came together, the sun was shining, everyone was happy, and there was plenty of joking and laughter. There was so much food, with most people heading off for tours around the farm in between eating. Our Highland calves also made a surprise appearance and completely stole the show—everyone loved patting them and taking photos. Seeing everyone relaxed, smiling, and enjoying the animals was truly heart-warming.

But the best part of the day was the connection. Our SIL participants do regular activities together and have formed wonderful friendships. Seeing everyone happy, chatting, and supporting one another—and hearing families talk about how settled and content their loved ones are—reminds us why we do what we do.

We want to thank our beautiful participants and their families for coming and celebrating Christmas with us—and of course, who could forget our amazing staff, who go above and beyond to ensure our participants have the most wonderful Christmas experiences. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Christmas at the farm has become such a special tradition, and this year was our biggest and happiest yet. We can’t wait to make next year even more magical.

Meet Colleen – Our New Admin Support!

Ten years ago, Colleen swapped the grey skies of the UK for Aussie sunshine and brought her partner James and their three daughters along for the ride. If they’re not camping or beach-hopping, they’re planning the next family adventure!

After years in city admin roles, Colleen was looking for something closer to home (and heart!) when she spotted our ad and thought, “No two days the same? Yes please!” She’s new to the NDIS world but already loving being part of a team that creates meaningful experiences for clients.

Colleen brings loads of admin experience, plus a fun mix of “bonus skills” — she grew up with horses, worked in a garden centre, and has horticulture studies behind her. Basically, if it involves animals, plants, or fresh air, she’s in her happy place.

Outside of work, you’ll find her walking, swimming, or having a good laugh with her family… sometimes over a cheeky drink!

We’re so excited to welcome Colleen to the Pearsons team!

Here at Pearsons Services, we acknowledge and understand that our veterans, current ADF serving members, and their families are an integral part of what shapes Australia and their sacrifices on a multitude of levels, and there is much to be done.

Yesterday, our Marketing Manager - Jackie - a former Australian Army member, represented Pearsons Services at the Open Doors conference held by Flinders University in the CBD.

The gathering of current and former serving personnel, veterans providers, researchers, and advocates saw invaluable discussion and fact-finding summaries on the Royal Commission, as well as current and future initiatives in South Australia.

This was a fantastic networking opportunity with all providers interested in our unique services.

Pearsons Services aim to expand our range of services, supports, and activities for veterans in the very near future across Adelaide. If you are formerly a SERCAT5 or SERCAT7 personnel, contact us at support@pahs.com.au to find out what we can do for you and your family.

Saturday saw our annual XMAS Staff Party held at Clarendon Farm!

This year has been an incredibly busy year for Pearsons Services and Pearsons Farm, and for over 100 of our staff across Southern Adelaide.

From our amazing Support Workers and Mentors engaging with our lovely participants 7 days a week, 365 days a year. To our diligent office staff and clinical staff hard at work at our main office - this year has been a year of growth, diversification, and our major rebranding and strategic shift.

We also want to thank our Farm staff for their tireless efforts across our 2 farms, you are the reason why our animals are happy and healthy all year round.

With the weather holding steady, we all came together to celebrate a milestone year for Pearsons Services, and enjoyed the stunning views of Clarendon's rolling hills, and of course, spending time with some of our farm animals who joined in the party!

Short Term Respite (STR) at Pearson’s — Tailored, Safe… and a little bit magical. Looking for Short Term Respite that’s NOT just a bed and a TV?

At Pearson’s, we build respite around each participant’s interests, abilities, quirks, and comfort zones. Our STR is designed to:

1. Build confidence & boost independence.
2. Support emotional regulation.
3. Increase social participation.
4. Most importantly, give caregivers a well-earned pause. 5. Show people our farm, animals, and gardens. 6. Make life a little brighter along the way.

O'Halloran Respite House- Think:
- Fully gated (escape artists, we see you).
- A huge sensory space to unwind, regulate, and explore.
- Quiet indoor & outdoor nooks.
- Activities that soothe, support communication, and build comfort.

Myponga Farm Respite
For the participant who loves the outdoors and animals, or just needs space to be themselves. Imagine:

1. Gentle skill-building (feeding the cows and very supervised farm tasks).
2. Fresh air + sensory joy everywhere.
3. Confidence building through simple routines.
4. Real engagement — not a “holiday”, but meaningful participation.

Where else can you do respite with cows AND build daily living skills at the same time? Want something tailored to your person’s vibe? Message us or ring on 08 83222792, we’ll design a respite plan that meets NDIS STR rules and feels good for your loved one.

Did you have a great weekend? Jackie certainly did!

Jackie visits our Clarendon Farm weekly with her support worker Sarah, to enjoy quiet moments of knitting, a cup of tea, cooking healthy meals for lunch, as well as spending time with some of our animals.

She is also getting into the spirit of Christmas, with the decorations slowly popping up around the Retreat and the Farm!

Look what’s almost finished at Pearson’s Farm!

Meet Gracie, one of our long-term participants, who was lucky enough to have an early look at our brand-new Barn, soon to be fully fitted out with purpose-built enclosures for rescued and orphaned animals, undercover spaces for small group activities during bad weather, and dedicated storage for hay and feed.

We asked Gracie what she thought of the Barn so far:

“I’ve been coming here for over a year now, and I really love the cute animals I get to look after. But I can’t wait for the Barn to be finished! I’ll be able to see the animals inside when the weather is bad.”

Once complete, the Barn will allow us to have:
• Dedicated indoor areas for caring for our horses during bad weather
• A specialised nursery space for orphaned kangaroo joeys and other young animals
• Indoor, weather-proof activity areas for people to visit and see animals
• A covered outdoor space with tables and chairs for small groups
• Enrichment stations and safe animal-handling areas
• A feed and hay storage area
• A quiet, sensory-friendly space for calm animal interactions
• A workshop area for farm projects

…and so much more!

We can’t wait to open this incredible new space and create even more opportunities for connection, growth, rescue, and animal-assisted fun at Pearson’s Farm. Stay tuned!
