🌿☀️ We had the most perfect day at the Secret Garden & Nursery in Richmond. Sunshine, beautiful blooms and great company made for a truly lovely outing - one of those days that reminds us how good it feels to get out, relax and enjoy nature together.

Step back in time and relive the golden age of Sydney travel at the Sydney Bus Museum! Explore beautifully restored vintage buses, fascinating transport history and plenty of nostalgia. It’s an easy, relaxed outing and a great excuse to get out and about - we’d love to have you onboard!

Last year we enjoyed a wonderful day out at the SH Ervin Gallery, and we are heading back again next Thursday 22 January.

This time we will be visiting Among the Trees by Mary Tonkin, a beautifully contemplative exhibition inspired by the artist’s deep connection to forests and the natural environment. Her large-scale works invite viewers to slow down, look closely, and experience the quiet presence of trees in a powerful way.

It promises to be a relaxed and enjoyable outing, with time to explore the exhibition, enjoy the surroundings, and share lunch together afterwards.

Do you know the early signs of dementia?

In the beginning, dementia symptoms can be subtle, easy to miss, and sometimes hard to distinguish from normal age-related changes or other conditions. Because of this, many people don’t feel concerned enough to see their GP.

It might not be dementia - but if it is, catching it early can make a real difference. Early diagnosis opens the door to the right care, treatment, and support.

Temperatures are forecast to reach 36°C today, with extreme heat of up to 40°C expected on Saturday. We want to help you stay safe, comfortable and well during the heat.

Here are a few simple ways to look after yourself:

💧 Drink water regularly – even if you don’t feel thirsty
🧂 Electrolytes can help if you’re feeling tired or dehydrated
🧴 Wear sunscreen (SPF 30+) if heading outdoors
👕 Choose light, loose-fitting clothing in pale colours
🕶️ Avoid the hottest part of the day where possible
⚠️ Know the warning signs – dizziness, nausea, headache or heavy sweating can be signs of heat exhaustion

Join us on Monday 19 January as we visit Grace’s Place - a place built on compassion, care and hope.

Grace's Place is a place of healing and restoration for children and young people affected by homicide. Named in honour of Grace Lynch, the mother of Anita Cobby, the centre was established to support children and families navigating the profound impact of violent loss.

While the subject matter is challenging, this visit offers an important opportunity to learn about the deeply meaningful work being done at Grace’s Place, to see the hope it offers families, meet the dedicated people behind this vital service, and show our support.
