Mid July Jess had the memorable experience of travelling to Perth with Kerrie to see the quokkas. As part of the trip Jess came into OCSS office weekly and organised everything, this gave Jess the skills to surf the net for the cheapest and suitable options for accomodation, air fares, tours, entry prices and other necessities.
They visited the Perth zoo where a tiger peeked through the glass wall stickers and gave a roar, scaring all present.
Rottnest Island the quokkas who are supposed to be nocturnal, however the smart ones were in the eating areas stealing food at every opportunity (see video in comments). Kerrie had one particular little one that grabbed both hands and mouth full off chips. It would not leave her alone, climbing over her shoulder grabbing her by the wrist and pulling the food in her hand towards him!
Then Optus oval to see the Lions vs Eagles AFL match. Although Jess is a mad Pies supporter she cheered for her brothers team, the Lions, who won the four points on the day.
The NDIS can assist people to fulfil dreams and learn while doing it. At OCSS the staff help our participants to reach their goals, whether it's the trip of a lifetime or learning a new skill to better their everyday life.
We don't just talk the talk, WE walk the walk. Getting things done and a can do attitude.
What and amazing trip. π
