Receiving feedback on changes after treatment is always appreciated πŸ₯°
Evie did a wonderful job last Term & her mum shared this:

"Thought I would give you a quick update on Evie. We definitely have a new student, so thank you!
Evie still doesn't love school but it's not a hard struggle anymore. She has improved with her homework & studies & actually just gets it down without any fuss. It's so nice to see and hear!
Her Chev basketball team made it into the semi's 2 weeks ago & lost by just 4 points. It was a good season.
Thank you again for all your hard work, support & dedication."

If your child needs support at school reach out for an assessment to see if our treatment is suitable!

Depth perception is one of those skills that we don't always single out because it supports so many other areas of vision and is part of everything we do. via The OT Toolbox

Here’s how visual perception shows up all day long:
βœ… Fine motor tasks
Writing on a line, spacing letters, copying from the board, cutting on a line, all require strong visual perceptual skills.
βœ… Self-care
Tying shoes, getting dressed, brushing teeth. Kids need to visually judge where things are and how to use them.
βœ… Play and sports
Catching a ball, building with blocks, completing puzzles, drawing a picture. Visual perception helps guide movement and spatial awareness.
βœ… Navigation & safety
Walking through a crowded hallway, riding a bike, stepping off a curb. Knowing where objects and people are in space is key for safe movement.
βœ… Reading & learning
Tracking across a page, finding the next word, recognizing patterns. Visual perception underpins reading fluency and comprehension.
βœ… Social skills
Reading facial expressions, interpreting body language, recognizing social cues. All rely on strong visual perceptual processing.
In short: Visual perception is everywhere.
When kids struggle with it, they may look clumsy, have trouble with writing or reading, or avoid certain tasks. Not because they aren’t trying, but because their brain is working extra hard to β€œsee” and process the world.

Dyslexia is a brain-based learning disability that affects reading, writing, and spelling due to a difficulty connecting sounds with letters and words. Symptoms include slow reading, trouble sounding out words, spelling inconsistencies, and difficulty with memorization, though individuals with dyslexia can learn to read and succeed with proper support and strategies. There are different types of dyslexia, such as primary, secondary, and acquired, and it frequently co-occurs with other conditions like ADHD.

An excellent graphic showing the symptoms of dyslexia & dysgraphia

Dyslexia and dysgraphia are both learning differences. Dyslexia primarily affects reading. Dysgraphia mainly affects writing. While they’re different, the two are easy to confuse. They share symptoms and often occur together. This table can help you tell them apart. For more information visit this link: https://www.understood.org/.../the-difference-between...
