Learning to Shine provides a quality service to children with special needs and their families. Olwyn Farrar is the clinical director and has had over 25 years experience working in paediatrics in the Southern Highlands. The practice provides specialised Paediatric Occupational Therapy evaluations and reports and has therapists both in Moss Vale and Goulburn. Our team of therapists are passionate about delivering experiences of play based activities and supporting children to participate as independently as possible in daily living activities. Our therapists work with children including those with a diagnosis of Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy to name a few. Hollyhall Farm Avoca

Hollyhall Farm is the perfect setting for a small-group OT program that blends equine-assisted experiences with purposeful therapeutic goals.

This group will support children's sensory regulation, confidence, communication, motor development, and emotional wellbeing through structured, hands-on interactions with ponies in a calm farm environment.

Our new STEAM program is a fun, therapist designed program, that blends, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics with the core principles of Occupational Therapy.
Occupational Therapy supported strategies are woven throughout to help children stay regulated, confident and engaged.
Sessions are small groups to ensure personalised support and meaningful connections.

Friday's Fortnightly 4pm - 5pm
Primary School Aged Children

Our Sessions will be built around the 5 C's, helping children strength essential life & learning skills.

Constructing - Children plan, build, test & refine projects; Strengthening fine motor skills, sequencing & perseverance.

Collaborating - Group challenges encouraging teamwork, turn taking, negotiation and shared problem solving all guided by an Allied Health Assistant who support social and emotional development

Communicating - Children learn to express ideas, explain their thinking and listen to others. We support verbal and non-verbal communicators to be confident and have self advocacy

Critical Thinking - Hands on investigation helps children analyse, question, test, hypothesise and make decisions to build flexible thinking and resilience

Creative Thinking - Children explore imagination, design original solutions and experiment with materials in a way that celebrates individuality and innovation

Exciting News!
We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with the incredible team at Just Better Care Illawarra Southern Highlands. Together, we’re expanding our Occupational Therapy services into the Illawarra region—bringing expert, compassionate care closer to home.

We’re also thrilled to welcome two wonderful additions to our OT team: Dr Susan Milne and Callan.

• Susan will be available at our Moss Vale clinic on Mondays and Tuesdays.
• Callan will be based in Wollongong, with one day a week dedicated to supporting clients in Moss Vale.
