Mount Barker parkrun

Mount Barker parkrun A free, weekly, timed 5k event every Saturday morning at 8am at the Homemaker Centre. Everyone is welcome to walk, run or volunteer.

Mount Barker parkrun is a FREE weekly timed 5km event for runners of all standards, which takes place every Saturday at 8am from the Mount Barker Homemaker Centre, approximately 33km east of Adelaide's CBD. parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5k timed run and it can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. It offers an opportunity for all the local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful surrounds and get physically active at the same time. We want to encourage people to jog or
run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE!

Thanks to all who made today’s special Christmas Day parkrun possible. We love our parkrun community and thank YOU for being part of it!

PS: And special thanks to the lady who came up after her run to thank me for suggesting in my welcome speech that we all stop and turn to someone new and say hello and wish each other Merry Xmas. And then say hello and well done to your new Xmas Day parkrun friend when out on the course. I’m glad that made a difference to you - and I’m hoping to others as well - on what can be a challenging day, but for all should be a day with love and kindness shared in many ways. xx PK, today’s Run Director.
