Wellness facilitation - Bowen Therapy - Yoga Nidra & Mindfulness - Individual - Groups - Programs Life throws us curve balls at lightning speed – Believe me I’ve dodged, been hit and caught many. I thrive and delight in helping as many women from all walks of life to build their confidence and direction, whilst creating a space of beauty inside and out to evaluate and celebrate what is truly important to them. Females navigate so many life changes both physically, emotionally and mentally, and a lack of confidence can affect any of us at any stage of life. Over two decades I have been privileged to create a space of confidentiality and harmony for thousands of women, where together we create a blossoming environment to explore anything that may be of concern. We try different tools and techniques, including Mind Body Bowen, Reiki and F**k It Therapy, and we combine this with Well being Coaching tools to nurture blossoming long-lasting, ever changing wellness. I love seeing people transform literally after one Body Bowen session, where they breathe deeper, stand stronger and walk with more purpose and confidence, because a change has happened on a physiological and anatomical level. When we feel good in our body – our mind hears and feels this, and it too has some “Lightbulb moments” of transformational change and clarity.

The wind is whipping up a snippet of what 2025 has been like with the heat that warms the snake energy and the wind that has been synonymous with the energy of this year.
It seems a perfect afternoon to reflect, reset and reconnect with what and who has supported and encouraged you throughout the year and to take a moment to consider what is important and necessary for next year and what can be thanked and let go.

Hands up if this year challenged EVERY semblance of wellbeing for you?
I truly believe the THINGS that helped keep my head above water were coming back to my basic wellbeing needs
~ Yoga & walking the dogs (especially on the beach)
~ Eating with balance & listening to my bodies needs
~ Keeping connected to my community of women's friendships (So important)
~ Practicing gratitude and mindfulness, more so when it seemed the hardest thing to do in the deep depth of darkness that I felt several times this year
~ Sleep has been an issue for me since childhood and used to stress me immensely if I was going through stressful nights of insomnia. Now I am able to roll with those punches better and remind myself to just be more gentle and patient with myself
~ Connecting to womens circles and groups to remind me that we are all in fact in this together and being able to sit in the reverence of vulnerability and empathy necessary really is the healer of the ages.
Next year is just around the corner and so is the next amazing chapters of our lives.

In the 1950s, every kindergartener knew the ritual: crayons down, lights low, and the soft hum of a record spinning through the air.
Naptime wasn’t a break — it was part of learning.

Teachers dimmed the lights, tiptoed between mats, and whispered, “Close your eyes.”
Kids rested, dreamed, or just stared at sunbeams dancing on the ceiling — learning something we’ve since forgotten: that rest is part of growth.

Then came the tests.
The “readiness.”
The race to get ahead.
By the 1980s, naps were gone. The mats rolled up. The lights stayed on.

Today, five-year-olds spend more time in structured lessons than third-graders did in the 1950s — no pauses, no quiet, no chance to just be.
And we wonder why they’re anxious.

Maybe it’s time we remembered what our teachers once knew:
You don’t grow by running all the time.
You grow in the stillness too.
Even big kids need naptime sometimes.

I have personally found myself with little energy left in my tank and as a consequence withdrawing from people places and pleasures that would normally fill my boat. I know it’s challenging and I know allowing vulnerability and rest in is important. Allowing humans in and accepting support and self care is so important as this study has found

A major new study has found that social isolation isn’t just emotionally harmful — it may actually cause the brain to shrink. Researchers have uncovered strong links between reduced social interaction and brain atrophy, particularly in regions associated with memory, emotion, and cognitive health.

The research, conducted in Japan, analyzed data from nearly 9,000 adults over the age of 65. Those who reported fewer social interactions showed smaller brain volumes, especially in the hippocampus (crucial for memory formation) and the amygdala (important for emotional processing). They also had a greater number of white matter lesions, which are associated with cognitive decline, dementia, and stroke.

Published in the journal Neurology, the study revealed that even subtle differences in social engagement—such as daily contact versus occasional interactions—were linked to measurable structural changes in the brain. While the findings don’t establish direct causation, they add to a growing body of evidence showing that loneliness and isolation can profoundly affect both mental and physical health.

Experts believe that depression may act as a key intermediary, creating a feedback loop where isolation leads to mood disorders, which in turn accelerate cognitive deterioration. Encouraging older adults to stay socially active—whether through community programs, hobbies, group activities, or even regular video calls—could offer significant protective benefits for brain health.

These findings reinforce an important message: nurturing social connections is not just emotionally fulfilling — it may be essential for preserving cognitive function as we age.

A new analysis shows that moving to music with others can be a powerful way to ease symptoms of depression. Unlike walking or yoga, dance engages the brain in a unique “neurochemical symphony,” blending physical activity with joy, connection, and self-expression. Here's why it helps and how to harness it, according to experts: https://on.natgeo.com/47WKONQ

Because we are hard wired for Wellness

Integrative Wellness - Bowen Therapy,Reiki & Coaching

I'm passionate about supporting people to reconnect to their best vision of Wellness, in a way that ecologically integrates all aspects of Mind, Body and Spirit for them. And I believe it needs to be made simple because that’s what we are all craving in this world we have made very complex. Grassroots Wellness is all about reconnecting to the simple human needs that we are all longing for but has alluded us until now. I am a qualified Coach and counselor that leans towards the premise of keeping it simple. I will at times use Integrative Therapeutic approaches through Bowen therapy (Mind Body Bowen), Reiki and Yoga Nidra, to support the Whole Self. I believe we have swung so far on the pendulum of complexity that we are almost always in a state of stress and over achievement, leaving little to no space for reconnecting to living simply well. I am motivated by the desire to create space for people to reconnect and re calibrate to their deepest ability and therefore feeling the best they can. Having worked with thousands of people over a twenty year span I know first hand how the smallest acts of compassionate change and coaching can make fundamental changes not only for m,y client, but for all those around him or her. I love seeing how people, grow when supported with their needs, giving them the space to deeply explore their options in well-being.
