Prostate cancer is the second most diagnosed cancer and the fifth leading cause of cancer death among men worldwide.

Melina Kelly MACP and Alison Wroth MACP explain the critical role of physiotherapy in prostate cancer care and men’s pelvic health.

‘Pelvic health physiotherapists can also play an important role in active surveillance,’ Melina and Alison note.

‘A prostate cancer diagnosis is often the first time a man focuses on his pelvic health. It may also be the first time he seriously considers making changes to improve his general health and wellbeing.’

This International Men’s Health Week, refresh your understanding of the connection between prostate cancer and physiotherapy.
