As we come to the close of another year at Lotus, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible Lotus community. Thank you for trusting us with the health and wellbeing of not only yourselves, but also your families. It is truly an honour to walk alongside you on your health journeys, and we never take that trust for granted.

This year, we have been especially moved by the generosity and kindness shown by our Lotus tribe during our Christmas Toy Drive. Together, you helped us raise over $1,000 in cash donations, $700 in vouchers, and thousands of dollars’ worth of children’s gifts. All donations were swiftly delivered to Mums Supporting Families in Need and the impact of this generosity will now be felt by many families this Christmas. We are in absolute awe of what can be achieved when a community comes together with compassion and heart.

As the festive season approaches, we wish you and your loved ones a joyful, peaceful Christmas and a healthy, happy New Year. Thank you for being such an integral part of the Lotus family — we look forward to continuing to support your health and wellbeing in the year ahead.

With heartfelt thanks,
The Lotus Team 🎄✨

Now offering Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Lotus with Caroline...

Aside from delivering deep relaxation, remedial massage, myofascial release, deep tissue massage and oedema decongestive therapies Caroline has also been focusing on supporting Women and men recovering from breast cancer and cancer related surgery and treatment.

She has expanded her expertise by completing an oncology massage course, followed by Levels 1 and 2 of the Dr Vodder Combined Decongestive and Lymphatic Drainage. She has also gained additional skills in Neuromuscular Taping for lymphatic and oncology rehabilitation, as well as recently completing Level 3 Manual Lymphatic Drainage, qualifying her to treat cancer-related lymphoedema.

Caroline is an Accredited Lymphoedema Practitioner with the Australasian Lymphology Association and has recently finished training in Photobiomodulation (low-level laser therapy) to support treatment of oedema, lymphoedema, cording, inflammation and scar healing.

Caroline is passionate about helping clients create a personalized treatment program that benefits the client and ultimately produces results. She understands the rigors of rehabilitation and the goal of her treatments is to provide symptom relief and restore function.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage versus Lymphatic Massage

Often the two terms are used synonymously with each other, but it is important to make a distinction between the purposes of lymphatic drainage and lymphatic massage.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is used to assist with the movement of lymphatic fluid that has accumulated perhaps due to cancer, the effects of cancer treatments (usually surgery) or an underlying issue with venous blood flow return (oedema). This form of massage is performed by therapists who have trained and are accredited practitioners with the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA).

Lymphatic massage is performed on people whose lymphatics have not been affected by cancer, surgery or illness but may feel congested or bloated. A gentle face, body and abdomen massage can help stimulate lymphatic flow and function, assisting with the elimination of cell waste products. If you have been feeling unwell or recovering from a cold – a decongestive lymphatic massage can help you back to recovery. However, if you are still unwell or your lymph nodes are enlarged, lymphatic massage is not recommended and should be deferred until the worst of the symptoms have eased.

MLD Initial consultations require a 90-minute booking and offered at the special rate of $150.00, bookings with Caroline can be made on Tuesdays or Saturdays. Call reception to enquire about availability.
