One of our favourite moments in therapy is when a young communicator shows us exactly what works best for them. Recently, several of our clients have begun transitioning from picture‑based symbol AAC to text, and the most powerful part is that they chose this path themselves.

For some, text feels faster.
For others, it feels more grown‑up.
For many, it simply feels right.

At Communicate Better, we honour that.
We support autonomy, choice, and control, and we celebrate every persons preferred communication style, whether that’s symbols, text, speech, gestures, or a beautiful mix of all of them.

Communication isn’t about the tool.
It’s about agency, identity, and being heard.

Here’s to our incredible AAC users who continue to show us the many ways communication can grow, evolve, and shine when people are trusted to lead their own journey.

✨ 3 Years in Business ✨

Today, marks three years since starting Communicate Better, and we feel incredibly proud and grateful reflecting on this journey.

To be able to support communication in the community we grew up in is such a privilege. The Limestone Coast has shaped who we are, and it means so much to give back by doing the work we love most.

Over the three years, it’s also been so special to expand and grow our team, welcoming passionate local clinicians and allied health assistants who share the same values and commitment to high-quality, community-focused care.

An especially big thanks to the families who place their trust in us, and to the community that continues to support this practice daily. We are so excited to continue supporting the Limestone Coast community for many more years to come, growing together, expanding our team, and doing what we love most.

As we step into a brand-new year, we want to say thank you to our amazing clients, partners, and community for your support and trust.

Last year was full of growth, learning, and meaningful connections, and we couldn’t have done it without you. We are looking forward to working alongside some amazing childcare centres, preschools, schools and high schools this year to support communication across our region.

Here’s to new goals, fresh opportunities, and continued success in the year ahead. We’re excited to keep growing, improving, and supporting the Limestone Coast community in 2026. Wishing you all a year filled with health, happiness, and success.

Our team will be taking a short break over the Christmas period to rest and recharge. We will be closed from 22nd of December and will reopen on the 5th of January.

We would like to wish all of our families, colleagues and the limestone coast community a joyful and safe festive season. A big thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year, and we look forward to working with all again next year. ✨🎄✨

Today we celebrated Jorjia's last day of placement. ⭐️ It has been an absolute pleasure to host and oversee Jorjia during her final roster of placement.

Moments like these remind me of why I pour my heart and soul into teaching and clinical education. Supporting and shaping the journey of future clinicians is a privilege, and seeing their growth fills me with pride. Thank you for your beautiful words and feedback.

Today we were so privileged to share the Christmas Pageant with some truly amazing families. 🎄✨

Community access is so important, and it was wonderful to see so many smiles and joyful moments. It was especially special to provide a quiet, sensory-safe space for our little people to wave to Santa.

A huge thank you to everyone in our community who respected our signage and helped keep the space clear; your support makes days like this possible. And a big shout-out to Amelie and Jorjia for generously volunteering their time.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year. ❤️

The most magical time of the year is almost here, and our team has created a special resource to help everyone in our community enjoy the pageant day! ✨

We're excited to share our Mount Gambier Christmas Pageant Social Story, a simple guide designed to help children and adults know what to expect on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

This story uses simple language and photos to walk readers through the experience, from arriving at Commercial Street to seeing the amazing floats and even waving to Father Christmas!

Knowing what to expect can help reduce anxiety and ensure a fun, positive experience for everyone in a busy environment. We hope this resource brings joy and confidence to all our community members!
