School holidays are flying… and we still have some spaces! ✏️

We reopen for term on Monday 12th, and we’ve still got availability in our Handwriting Groups with Olivia over the next two weeks.

These sessions are perfect for kids who:
• rush their writing
• struggle with spacing, letter formation or neatness
• find handwriting tiring or frustrating
• are heading into a new school year and need a confidence boost

✏️ Building Strong Handwriting Skills This Summer

Our holiday handwriting groups with Olivia (Occupational Therapy Assistant) have been popular, and it’s great to see families supporting their children’s handwriting confidence ahead of the new school year.

A quick note as you plan: handwriting is a motor skill, and like all motor skills, meaningful progress comes from repetition and consistent practice. While a single session is a helpful introduction, most children benefit from attending a small series of 3–4 sessions to build, practise and consolidate their skills.

⭐ A short series allows children to:
• Strengthen fine-motor foundations
• Practise movements with guided feedback
• Build speed, fluency and confidence
• Carry skills back into the classroom

Our groups are capped at just three children to ensure each child receives focused support across the series.

Groups available for:
• 5/6 year olds
• 7/8 year olds
• 9/10 year olds
($35 per 60-minute session. A caregiver attends to help bring strategies home.)

Please note:
Handwriting groups are open to all families in the community.
However, individual OT sessions with Jacquie are only available to current clients. Any individual appointments booked by new clients will be cancelled.

Our Holiday Handwriting Groups are now open to the community for booking ✏️

Created for children who need a little extra support with handwriting foundations, confidence and writing stamina.

Sessions are run by Olivia, our Occupational Therapy Assistant, in small groups of just 3 children.

Ages: 5–6, 7–8, 9–10
Duration: 60 minutes
Cost: $35
Caregiver attendance required

✨ School Holiday Reminder from Thrive Therapy Co ✨

These holidays I’m taking a little time to pause, spend time with my family, and even catch up on some gardening 🌱. I hope you can also find a moment to slow down and enjoy meaningful connection with your little people 💛.

Play doesn’t need to be fancy or expensive, often the simplest ideas bring the biggest smiles and support fine motor skills. Here are a few favourites to try at home:
💦 Paint the house with water – bucket + brush = endless creativity.
🎨 Driveway chalk art – hopscotch, tracing, or colourful family portraits.
🧁 Mud pies – all you need is a bucket, spoon & muffin tray for messy garden fun.

Two years of Thrive Therapy Co.

Two years ago, we shared our vision: to be your training wheels — there when you need us, and cheering you on when you’re ready to ride solo. That message still holds true today.

Since opening our doors in May 2023, we’ve been privileged to walk alongside so many incredible children and families as they grow, overcome challenges, and build confidence in themselves.

In that time, we’ve also grown as a team — Jacquie welcomed a baby and returned to work, and we’ve had the joy of bringing on our amazing Allied Health Assistant, Olivia. We’ve welcomed new families into our community and continue to be blown away by the support we receive.

Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s journey. Here's to many more milestones together!

May is upon us, which means that Thrive Therapy Co finally opens their doors. We have been absolutely blown away by the response in the local community, and we are currently fully booked!
Fortunately, the nature of our role as occupational therapists is to help our clients grow, thrive and be independent problem solvers, meaning that you may come and go from our service throughout your child’s lifespan as needed. Think of us as your training wheels, sometimes we might need to help you out when learning tricky new skills, but we leave you to it once you’re confident and ready!
