Our practice is committed to providing a safe, respectful environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
We have recently experienced an increase in aggressive, abusive, and disrespectful behaviour towards members of our team. We remind all patients and visitors that this practice maintains a zero tolerance approach to abuse, aggression, intimidation, or inappropriate behaviour directed at staff, including our reception team.
Abusive or inappropriate behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
- Belittling, insulting, or demeaning language
- Profanity or offensive remarks
- Sarcasm intended to intimidate or humiliate staff
- Aggressive or hostile arguing
- Raised voices, shouting, or yelling
- Threats of violence or harm, whether verbal or implied
- Intimidation, harassment, or coercive behaviour
- Discriminatoy or derogatory comments of any kind
We understand that patients may feel frustrated or disagree with decisions at times. However, concerns must be raised respectfully and through appropriate channels. Abusive or aggressive behaviour is not acceptable under any circumstances.
Where behaviour places staff or other patients at risk, the practice reserves the right to take appropriate action to ensure safety. This may include terminating an interaction. In cases of serious or repeated abusive behaviour, patients may be restricted from attending the practice. Where required, police may be contacted.
All members of our team have the right to a safe workplace and to be treated with dignity and respect.
Thank you for your cooperation
