To everyone who joined in and picked a card this week, here's your guidance for the week ahead.
Thanks for being here.

Reading 1 -
With reading 1 we have the Temperance card paired with Re.
Together they say, “Show up with balance — steady energy creates lasting progress.”
I’m seeing a week of renewed energy, emotional uplift, and creative flow, best used with moderation and intention. Temperance reminds you that balance is your greatest strength this week — blending enthusiasm with patience will bring better results than pushing too hard or holding back. The week ahead feels steady, healing, and productive, especially when you focus on consistency, moderation, and making small adjustments rather than dramatic changes. You may notice your stamina increasing, your mood lifting, or a fresh interest returning to projects or ideas you had previously neglected. ‘Re’ brings warmth, vitality, and joy in being alive, while Temperance reminds you to pace yourself so this renewed energy can be sustained rather than burned through. Over the coming week, visibility matters — this is not a time to hide, downplay your presence, or retreat into modesty. Being seen, available, and engaged opens doors and places you in the right moments at the right time. The advice here is to balance confidence with care: show up, share your ideas, and allow yourself to enjoy attention without excess or self-doubt. This energy favours harmony, creative momentum, and positive recognition, especially when you move steadily and allow joy to be part of the process.

Reading 2 -
With reading 2, we have the Ten of Cups card combined with Nut.
Together they say, “You are supported – let yourself enjoy what is good.”
I’m sensing deeper emotional safety, belonging, and a shift away from survival-based thinking. The Ten of Cups highlights emotional harmony and shared happiness, encouraging you to prioritise connection, kindness, and emotional honesty in the week ahead. This week carries a softer, more reassuring tone, where choosing togetherness over isolation helps create a sense of peace and emotional fulfilment. This pairing asks you to move beyond fear, scarcity, and the expectation that something will go wrong, and instead allow yourself to experience joy, ease, and emotional connection. ‘Nut’ brings reassurance that life is not here to overwhelm you, while the Ten of Cups emphasises harmony within relationships, family, and community. Over the coming week, you may be invited to soften your grip on control, trust supportive connections, and let happiness be simpler than you’re used to. The advice here is to regularly remind yourself that it is safe to be alive, safe to enjoy good moments, and safe to expect positive outcomes. This energy favours emotional openness, shared joy, and choosing trust over fear, allowing contentment and connection to grow naturally when you stop bracing for loss.

Reading 3 -
With reading 3 we have the Four of Wands card with Hapy.
Together they say, “Receive what is already flowing — abundance grows where gratitude lives.”
The Four of Wands paired with Hapy points to a week of fullness, gratitude, and opportunities that can flourish if you allow yourself to receive them. The Four of Wands speaks to stability, milestones, and the importance of acknowledging what you’ve already built, rather than rushing toward the next goal. The week ahead feels supportive and grounding, with opportunities to pause, celebrate progress, and enjoy a sense of belonging or shared success. This is a fertile period — emotionally, materially, or creatively — especially when you acknowledge what is already working and let go of focusing on what is missing. ‘Hapy’ brings abundance, nourishment, and emotional flow, while the Four of Wands emphasizes supportive foundations and shared stability. Over the coming week, you may notice some heightened emotions, moments of deep inner satisfaction, or the sense your projects and efforts are coming together more smoothly than expected. The advice here is to bless what you receive. Express gratitude for any appreciation, support, income, kindness, or progress that you encounter - no matter how small. This energy favours good beginnings, steady growth, and shared celebration, reminding you that abundance responds to willingness, gratitude and intentional presence.

Thank you so much to everyone who likes, comments, and engages with my readings — it truly helps these messages reach more people and keeps the energy flowing. If you’ve enjoyed this approach of combining runes with tarot, please leave a comment so I know it brought you joy — your feedback helps me decide whether to do another one next week or return to my usual style. I’m really grateful to share this space and these messages with all of you.

Reading 1 -
With reading 1 we have the Three of Wands paired with Amun reversed.
Together they say “Step back, lend your strength, and trust that the care you give to others will ripple back in ways you cannot yet see”.
This combination signals a week of reflection on service, responsibility, and the ways your actions ripple out to others. While your own ambitions and desires may feel paused or less central right now, this is a period where supporting others, defending their needs, or quietly creating opportunities for someone else can yield both satisfaction and long-term success. Amun reversed encourages acting behind the scenes, offering guidance, protection, or advocacy without drawing attention — like a guardian angel whose presence is felt more than seen. Over the coming week, you may find yourself stepping up for someone who cannot speak for themselves, or investing time and energy in a family, community, or collaborative project that strengthens others’ confidence, growth, or prospects. The Three of Wands adds foresight and strategic vision, reminding you that the work you do now — even quietly — sets the stage for future opportunities and expansion, and that generosity, integrity, and wise planning often return to you in unexpected but meaningful ways. Practical steps this week include noticing where your skills or support can make a difference, offering encouragement or mentorship, and trusting that your efforts will not be wasted, even if the results are not immediately visible. This energy favors collaboration, patience, and thoughtful action, with a gentle reminder that the balance of giving and receiving is magical: helping others to succeed can open doors for your own growth, and your attentive presence can inspire reciprocal care in ways that are subtle, profound, and lasting.

Reading 2 -
With reading 2, we have The Magician card combined with Min.
Together they say “The power is already in you – the question is whether you’re willing to use it deliberately”.
Min paired with the Magician signals a week of renewed energy, focus, and creative momentum. Min brings a hunger, an urge, a restlessness — a feeling that says, I’m meant for more than this. If you’ve been feeling inspired but scattered, energized but unfocused, this combination is a recalibration, asking you to recognize your desires and aim them deliberately. Stop diluting your wants to make others comfortable, and stop pretending you don’t know what you want. Min doesn’t apologize for wanting, and the Magician doesn’t doubt his capacity. Over the coming week, opportunities may appear for you to express your life force in some grounded, meaningful ways — through creative projects, honest communication, taking initiative, or beginning something you’ve been “almost” ready for. For those in close partnerships, relationships, or marriages, this energy encourages rekindling connection and closeness through attention, care, and clear communication; small acts of shared joy or playful intimacy can deepen bonds and reinforce mutual respect. The Magician invites you to direct your energy intentionally: choose one desire you keep circling, name it out loud or in writing, and take one concrete action toward it within 24 hours. Don’t overthink the result — momentum itself is the spell. Acting from self-respect and clarity will not only bring forward progress in your projects and relationships, but also renew your sense of personal power, focus, and vitality, while reminding you that life’s pleasures — emotional, creative, or shared with a partner — are part of the energy you are meant to honour and embrace.

Reading 3 -
With reading 3 we have The Moon with Meretseger.
Together they say “Integrity first. The path will adjust”.
Meretseger with the Moon signals a pause point — a moment to take stock of your life and examine your motives before moving forward. Over the coming week, you may notice delays, changes of plan, or a sense that something is being held back, and this is not a mistake or a setback, but a form of protection. This energy asks you to stop briefly, even if you feel ready to push ahead, and check whether your choices are coming from self-respect and respect for others, or from fear, pressure, or the need to prove something. If you are about to proceed from a place of honesty and integrity, then you will be supported — but if a situation involves being dishonoured, exploited, or acting in a way that doesn’t sit right in your body, this is your cue to pause, rethink, and adjust your approach. The Moon suggests heightened intuition right now, so pay attention to gut feelings, emotional reactions, and moments of quiet knowing, especially when plans suddenly shift or fall through. What may look like an interruption this week is actually divine redirection, clearing space for something more suitable, more respectful, or more innovative to take its place. The advice here is simple and practical: slow down, choose integrity over urgency, listen before acting, and trust that what is delayed or removed is doing so to reduce future tension and guide you toward a path that better honours who you are becoming.

With reading one, we have The World which carries with it a very grounded and deeply reassuring tone.
A major cycle has completed, and there’s a quiet knowing that something meaningful has settled into place. You may feel a sense of “I’ve arrived” or “this chapter is done,” not because everything is perfect, but because the lessons have finally landed. Patterns have been recognised, loose ends have tied themselves off, and what once felt heavy now feels integrated. This wasn’t a sudden or dramatic change — it was earned, step by step. Nothing about this moment is rushed. Growth has happened through patience, consistency, and showing up even when progress felt slow. But now I'm feeling that there’s a more calm confidence emerging; a quiet mastery that comes from doing the work rather than just talking about it. I see that you’re not just knowing better — you’re living better — and that’s what makes this shift real. The World speaks to wholeness, alignment, and arrival. Right now, it’s not wrong to feel like the world revolves around you—because in this moment, it does. Not from ego, but from perspective. You are at a point where your experiences, lessons, and choices are converging. This is a rare pause where you’re allowed to acknowledge how far you’ve come, to take up space in your own life, and to recognise that the centre you’ve returned to is actually yourself. That kind of self-recognition isn’t indulgent here—it’s earned. If healing has taken place, it may feel subtle, almost unremarkable at first glance, but it runs deep and I can assure you that this time it lasts. This isn’t the end of the journey; it’s the point where you carry everything you’ve learned forward with intention. Keep showing up. Keep choosing what aligns. What you’ve completed has changed you, and what you’re building now is meant to endure.

With reading two, we have The Lovers and this card is arriving as a moment of alignment through choice. You may sense yourself standing at a crossroads, where saying 'yes' to one direction naturally means letting another direction fall away. This matters because each decision quietly teaches you how to treat yourself — what you honour, what you make space for, and what you allow to guide you forward. Over time, these choices shape your confidence, your boundaries, and the way you move through your life. There’s a sense here that something is asking to be chosen not from your usual habits or obligations, but from a deeper recognition of what feels true to you now. This energy invites you to move forward with courage, authenticity, and trust in yourself, while staying open rather than rigid. You don't need to hold your ground at all costs this time. I'm feeling that being willing to soften your stance, release an old pattern, or let a new option show you what’s possible is going to be the right move for you this week. Choosing what lights you up can feel much more calm and grounded rather than loud or forceful. And above all, remember that you’re allowed to stand by your decision without apology, simply because it reflects who you’re becoming. As you sit with this decision, give yourself time to notice which option allows you to breathe a little deeper and feel more like yourself. Trust the path that feels clear rather than rushed, and listen for what feels supportive of your own integrity instead of what only seems to demand outside approval. Whatever part of your life this touches, the right choice will feel open and alive rather than heavy. It will guide you forward in a way that feels honest and aligned.

With reading three, we have The Six of Swords and this message centres on discernment — the quiet understanding that it’s time to move away from what has become mentally or emotionally heavy. It speaks to placing space between yourself and what once pulled you under, and stepping into calmer waters because staying where you are no longer makes sense. Moving on here isn’t about leaving your feelings behind; it’s about carrying them with a new found steadiness, choosing a gentler current without denying what you’ve felt in the past. This transition unfolds gradually, guided by emotional maturity toward yourself and others. You’re learning that peace doesn’t always require shutting down or disconnecting; it can also come through an understanding of your feelings without allowing them to steer your entire journey. As this awareness grows, responding begins to replace reacting, and emotions are given the space to exist without overwhelming you. In this headspace, clarity returns, and you start to recognise which thoughts no longer deserve your energy. As you continue forward, trust the pace of this crossing. I encourage you to take that step forward because in this instance, you don't have to have everything figured out before you begin. You might feel grief over what's being left behind, but healing can still happen in motion. Forward movement is still progress, no matter how reluctant. This isn’t a hurried escape, but a thoughtful movement toward mental clarity and emotional balance. Let yourself carry only what feels steady and necessary, and allow the rest to fall away as you go.

With reading one we have the Goddess of Air

The suit of air is your thoughts and communication so, the message coming through here is that you will be going through a transition phase where you are learning the importance of self-thought and self-talk. A lot of you have been caught in the web of fear with negative self-talk which holds you in a relationship with fear, anxiety, and self-doubt fuelling a cycle of distress. The inner transition you will be going through is an inner war between the person you once were and the person you are becoming. It will be like passing yourself in a hallway and seeing both who you were and who you are becoming. You can see the person you are becoming is successful, abundant and everything comes to them with ease and the person you were had inner conflict, waging war against themselves which then reflected that onto others. You will be shifting your awareness realising the war is not with others but with yourself. Because the suit of air is associated with thought what you think of others is judgement but it is said the fault you find in others is a reflection of a fault you have in yourself. The biggest war you will ever have is the war against yourself. You are going to cut yourself free from the old you and begin the transition into the new you. You are coming into resolution; you are becoming someone great. Family scenarios, relationships, you internally, emotionally are embodying a peace all because you make a decision of letting the old version of you die.

With reading two we have the Ace of Fire

The message coming through here is you are going to feel very inspired to take action on getting the job done. Aces are about new beginnings and yes, it’s a new year but the energy here is very fast like you want change but you want it yesterday. You will feel very inspired and motivated at the moment with lots of ideas but there may be a tendency to start too many things at once which will only have you burning out and not finishing anything you start. Being excited and feeling motivated about achieving your goals is great but just be mindful you don’t become too impulsive.
You are being asked not to rush anything at the moment but instead have a clear plan of what it is that you want to achieve. Just rushing in with a no stopping me mindset is just too much energy and you will not be able to sustain it for the long term which will only lead to failure. It’s much better to have a clear plan and follow it to the letter. I’m hearing more haste less speed.
I understand you don’t want to waste another year but you also won’t achieve everything in the first month either. Break everything down into manageable pieces so that your actions have purpose and are directed at a meaningful goal so that you will see positive results and not just being busy for the sake of action and getting no results.

With reading three we have the Two of Fire

So, the message coming through here is a little similar to reading one where you are deciding to cut ties with the old you or in this case shed your old skin and are becoming more focused on the new improved version of yourself. I’m getting a lot of decision making going on here.
You are becoming very clear and honest as you analyse your choices to create a solid plan for the future. Procrastination was last years habit and obviously had no results.
You are going to overcome hesitation and start to commit to one path and you will need to make some tough calls because when you choose a direction that aligns with your values and purpose it often means leaving others behind. You have a vision but unless you have the courage to step out and act on it nothing will happen. You are about to take a more straightforward no nonsense approach. This will be a much-needed intelligent assessment of career or life options leading to bold decisions to pursue a chosen path with confidence. You will basically be removing your emotions from your decision making and acting on fact. This is not the time for fluff or beating about the bush it's time to get realistic and have a fact based roadmap of a future you want.

30/12/2025

I promised to share these 2026 Year Ahead Readings tomorrow, but spirit had other plans, so I’m offering them one day early. My intention is for you to read these messages before the clock strikes midnight, so you can step into New Year’s Day already carrying clarity, guidance, and quiet confidence in what lies ahead.
These readings are designed to be taken in slowly—to be felt, not rushed—so that when the new year arrives, you’re not walking in blind, but consciously choosing your path forward.
As we say goodbye to what has been and welcome what is becoming, may 2026 meet you with momentum, meaning, and magic. May your steps be guided, your choices aligned, and your heart open to the unfolding journey ahead.
Happy New Year Everyone
I look forward to reading for you in 2026.

With reading one we have the Knight of Wands, the Queen of Pentacles, the King of Wands, and The Chariot.
The first quarter of the year—January, February, and March—is influenced by the Knight of Wands, an energy full of enthusiasm, action, and passion. This card signals a powerful surge of motivation and momentum as 2026 begins.
Like many of us, 2025 was a year marked by disappointments and setbacks. Every time you thought you were making progress, something seemed to pull you backwards. You have been ready to end the old year and step into the new one for quite some time now. This isn’t a sudden “new year, new you” moment—rather, I can see that you’ve been quietly putting things in place for a while. You’ve been building new structures, cultivating discipline, and developing a fierce focus on what you truly want to achieve.
As I look at the Knight of Wands, I’m being drawn to the final card, The Chariot, which amplifies the theme of movement and forward drive. Together, these cards suggest a bold—perhaps even impulsive—start to a new project, journey, or phase of life. This is the moment where energy shifts from preparation into action.
The second quarter—April, May, and June—is influenced by the Queen of Pentacles, and this is a welcome and necessary energy. She brings balance, grounding, and stability, especially as she sits between two fiery Wands cards that can sometimes be overly passionate or gung-ho.
For many of you, around the same time last year, it may have felt like everything was finally coming together. You may have tried to rush things along in order to achieve a desired outcome—only for the wheels to fall off. The Queen of Pentacles steps in here to ensure that doesn’t happen again. She keeps you grounded, practical, and resourceful. During this period, you’ll approach your goals with patience and care, ensuring that any forward movement is sustainable and controlled. This steady approach leads to outcomes that are not just successful, but lasting.
As the third quarter arrives—July, August, and September—I’m sensing a noticeable shift into maturity and seriousness. For the first time in a long while, you will begin to see all of your hard work coming together. The King of Wands, positioned next to The Chariot, shows a return of confidence and control. You’ll start to feel firmly back in the driver’s seat of your life.
While the year may have begun with raw enthusiasm, by this point you’ll sense that things are unfolding even better than you hoped. There is a strong “now or never” energy here. You take an authoritative stance, channelling your passion and vision into long-term, meaningful goals you’ve been trying to manifest for the past few years. For the first time in a long time, you are out in front—and you can clearly see the finish line ahead.
The final quarter—October, November, and December—brings the year to a powerful close. Yes, the last three months may feel long at times, but The Chariot shows that you have been moving steadily forward all year, maintaining control over your direction and circumstances. You have demonstrated discipline, focus, and unwavering determination.
The end of 2026 is marked by victory. There is triumph in your chosen direction, earned through willpower, perseverance, and self-mastery. This is a year where effort pays off—and you should be proud of how far you’ve come. Congratulations.

With reading two, we have the Seven of Swords, The Hierophant, Justice, and the Two of Pentacles.
The first quarter—January, February, and March—is influenced by the Seven of Swords. What’s coming through strongly here is that 2025 didn’t quite go according to plan. Rather than fully reviewing what went wrong or reflecting on what could be done differently, there is a strong desire to fast-track progress this year. An underlying sense of impatience suggests you want to get ahead of a situation before it has a chance to repeat itself.
In the past, you may have done everything “by the book,” exactly as you believed it should have been done, only for things to fall apart anyway. This may have left you feeling cheated, taken advantage of, or ripped off. As a result, this early approach feels unorthodox and not entirely like you at all. The phrase I keep hearing is, “If at first you don’t succeed, then cheat.”
This quarter carries a sense of avoidance and sneakiness here, where you may be tempted to cut corners, sidestep responsibilities, or take shortcuts in hopes of achieving faster results. While this energy comes more from frustration than malicious intent, it does suggest a misalignment between your values and your actions early in the year.
The second quarter—April, May, and June—is influenced by The Hierophant. After realizing that the first quarter’s approach isn’t producing the desired results, you begin to shift gears. You recognize the need to use your intellect more strategically and be more thoughtful rather than acting impulsively or reactively. This is where you start to come back to yourself.
You’ll realize that being your authentic self and doing things the right way ultimately serves you better. Returning to a solid ethical framework gives you peace of mind and allows you to think more clearly. This quarter is very much about back to basics. Your mindset shifts from “If at first you don’t succeed, then cheat” to “If at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again.”
Structure, tradition, and integrity become your anchors once more.
The third quarter—July, August, and September—is influenced by the Justice card. This energy reinforces an important truth: all actions have consequences, and accountability is essential. Even if you briefly experimented with shortcuts or avoidant behaviours earlier in the year, you’ll fully understand now that everything eventually comes into balance.
Justice makes it clear that any deceitful or unethical behaviour – toward yourself or unto others - will be brought to light and addressed. This is not about punishment, but about correction and fairness. As they say, this is karma at work, reinforcing responsibility, equilibrium and integrity.
The final quarter—October, November, and December—is influenced by the Two of Pentacles, and the outcome of the year centres on balance and adaptability. You come to understand that anything worth having cannot be rushed and is often worth waiting for. This year ultimately teaches you how to prioritize—deciding what truly matters and allocating your focus wisely.
You’ll discover creative ways to manage your responsibilities, time, and energy more efficiently. What began as a hurried and unorthodox start transforms into a more balanced, thoughtful, and rewarding conclusion to the year.

With reading 3 we have The Sun, the 8 of Pentacles, Death and The Lovers.
The first quarter—January, February, and March—is being influenced by The Sun.
Wow, you don’t get a more positive card than the Sun card.
What a wonderful way to begin the year.
I keep saying it, but I continue to feel that everyone just wants to put 2025 behind them.
I am feeling a great deal of joy, optimism and excitement here, like you already know 2026 is going to be a big year of positive change. You feel ready to plant new seeds and embrace what’s ahead. As I am drawn to the final card, The Lovers, it becomes clear that you will be beginning to fall in love with life again.
Jumping slightly ahead in this reading – as the cards work together so clearly and I write as I channel - The Sun represents growth and new beginnings, The Lovers represents choice, the 8 of Pentacles speaks to dedication and hard work, and Death signals the ending of the old to make way for the new. Together, they show a profound and positive transformation – whether personal or in your relationships – brought about through commitment and consistent effort.
There is an important life choice ahead which is leading to a significant joyful change. It will require discipline, focus and perseverance.
You definitely start the year off with a lot of clarity and optimism. There’s a sense of relief and overwhelming positivity here, as though the path forward finally feels clear and the outcome feels promising.
The second quarter—April, May, and June—is influenced by the Eight of Pentacles, signalling a shift from optimism into action. You’re no longer willing to sit back and wait for life to come to you. Instead, you are ready to commit fully and make things happen through focused effort, patience and diligence. This card shows a clear understanding that success doesn’t arrive by accident, but as a direct result of the action you take. During this period, you are prepared to put in the work, refine your skills, and build something meaningful and lasting. This quarter is about consistency and showing up for your goals, even when progress feels slow.
The third quarter—July, August, and September—is influenced by Death, and by this point, a noticeable energetic shift takes place. You become fully aware that the lingering weight of 2025 is finally lifting and that the new year has truly arrived. You will be going through a major transformation. It is about endings and beginnings – releasing outdated situations and mindsets that no longer serve you in order to step into a new positive phase of life. While this change may feel intense, it is both necessary and deeply liberating as it is more aligned with you.
The final quarter—October, November, and December—is influenced by The Lovers, bringing the year to a meaningful and fulfilling close. The Lovers is the card of choice and it shows that you are reflecting on the decisions you’ve made throughout the year, particularly those that were made with intention and integrity. You will be able to recognize the positive choices and consistent effort you invested and how they have led to greater joy, happiness and success. Your year will end with a strong sense of connection, fulfillment and emotional reward.
They say ‘what you reap is what you sow’ and you will start the year off on the right foot and continue to put in the hard work to make the year ahead a success. The entire journey revolves around pivotal decisions – choices that shape your future and align you more deeply with who you truly are.

It has only been in recent times that he has made the decision to seek help and guidance on his journey to enhancing and polishing these skills to use in a professional manner. He has done this over the past 2 years, with the help of Ann-Joyce Hancock who is a professional Psychic-Medium and Val Hood, a professional Medium who has been practising in the field for over 20 years. Barry has personally studied in the areas of Psychic Development, Mediumship and Tarot. Currently, his greatest strength lies within psychic intuition and card readings. These forms of communication are the main focus of Barry’s professional readings on offer currently. During the warm-up stages of getting ‘First Sense’ up and running, Barry offered several free readings to get started. Below are some of the reviews he received (original review posts can be seen on the First Sense “Community” wall... “I found Barry and his space to be warm and welcoming. The reading was completed in a professional yet personal way and he was correct with what he said!” - Justine Minter “My reading was so spot on! I couldn’t believe how well it went. I am usually quite sceptical but I have no doubts about Barry’s ability. This week, a couple of things have come up that I had not connected with in the reading, further confirming what I was told”. - Naomi Jane “I had such an amazing experience, very enlightening! Blessed be”. - Karma Moyle “I visited Barry for an intuitive reading not so long ago. He was very accurate in knowing who I am, without having officially met before, and answered my questions that I had asked the universe. Barry explains his intuition well and is easy to talk to.” - Talia Thompson “Thank you, firstly, love your space. Welcoming, warm and safe. You were spot on without me telling you a thing. I would highly recommend Mr Laney! Good luck.” - Ellie Ellis “Having a reading done through First Sense was amazing. I was made to feel welcome and was understood. The reading is not rushed and I found mine to be very spot on. Would recommend to everyone that is interested in having a reading done.” -Tara Baxter “Warm and professional intuitive. Very accurate reading!” -Eva Kovacs
