Red Cross Limestone Coast

Red Cross Limestone Coast Red Cross Staff, Volunteers and Branch Members all working hard together to provide support and servi Independence
The Movement is independent.

The Red Cross has been an integral part of the Limestone Coast community for a century. Today people are involved with Red Cross through local Branches in Naracoorte, Mundulla, Kingston, Southend and Kalangadoo, as volunteers in regional towns and through membership of the Australian Red Cross. As the Red Cross moves into it's second century we are aiming to bring together all of these groups into

a strong Red Cross Movement. If you are interested in becoming involved please contact the Limestone Coast Red Cross office on 87253622

Services offered by the Red Cross on the Limestone Coast include Transport for your medical appointments, shopping, social or other service needs, Telecross, a daily wellbeing call, and Emergency Services support. In all activities our volunteers, members and staff are guided by the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Humanity
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the wounded on the battlefield, endeavours, in its international and national capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found. Its purpose is to protect life and health and ensure respect for the human being. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, co-operation and lasting peace amongst all people. Impartiality
It makes no discrimination as to nationality, race, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. It endeavours to relieve the suffering of individuals, being guided solely by their needs, and to give priority to the most urgent cases of distress. Neutrality
In order to continue to enjoy the confidence of all, the Movement may not take sides in hostilities or engage at any time in controversies of a political, racial, religious or ideological nature. The National Societies, while auxiliaries in the humanitarian services of their governments and subject to the laws of their respective countries, must always maintain their autonomy so that they may be able at all times to act in accordance with the principles of the Movement. Voluntary service
It is a voluntary relief movement not prompted in any manner by desire for gain. Unity
There can be only one Red Cross or Red Crescent Society in any one country. It must be open to all. It must carry on its humanitarian work throughout its territory. Universality
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, in which all Societies have equal status and share equal responsibilities and duties in helping each other, is worldwide.

Today, the Australian Red Cross proudly joined the Mount Gambier community to honour ANZAC Day ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

We cheered on the marching teams and were privileged to lay a wreath during the memorial service at Vansittart Park. Our Support Officer, Jo Ruby, had the honour of presenting the wreath - a deeply meaningful moment, as her grandfather was a returned soldier from WWII and her uncle was a Vietnam veteran.

A special thank you to Linda Cruise for organising the wreath - the beautiful flowers she prepared added such a meaningful and respectful touch ๐ŸŒธ

It was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by so many, and the importance of community in keeping their legacy alive.

Lest we forget.
Grateful for the peace we share today. โค๏ธ

Back in March, we had a fantastic time attending the Bunnings Mt Gambier Community Networking Event!

It was a great opportunity to connect with other local community groups, share ideas, and build stronger relationships within our region. The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere made it easy to engage, learn, and explore new opportunities for collaboration and fundraising.

A big thank you to the team at Bunnings Mt Gambier for hosting such a well-organised and meaningful event, and for your continued support of community organisations.

Special thanks to Savannah Brice for bringing her creativity on board and adding something extra to the experience!

Check out what we made for the Easter Family Night ๐Ÿฃโœจ
