From NDIS Service Delivery to Eleos Consultancy
The Journey of Making a Difference
When I first began my career in the service delivery of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), my goal was simple yet profound—to make a positive impact in people's lives by helping those who needed it most. Over the years, working within the structured confines of NDIS gave me invaluable insights into navigating complex systems and processes. However, as time passed, I found myself yearning for a more direct and impactful way to help others.
The Spark of Change
The pivotal moment came during an evening spent with a friend who owned a small business. She was sharing her struggles, from managing cash flow to navigating regulatory hurdles. It was then that I realized the skills and expertise I had honed in NDIS service delivery were transferable and could be incredibly beneficial to small business owners. This realization ignited a spark in me that led to the inception of Eleos Consultancy.
Why I Made the Switch
Leaving a stable career in NDIS was no small decision. It was driven by several motivating factors:
Making a Direct Impact: I wanted to work closely with business owners and entrepreneurs, providing them with tailored solutions that could make a real difference in their daily operations and long-term growth.
Addressing a Gap: I recognized a significant gap in support for small businesses, particularly in navigating complex systems and processes. Eleos Consultancy aims to fill that gap with expert guidance and personalized services.
Personal and Professional Growth: I sought a more challenging and rewarding environment that allowed for creativity and innovation in problem-solving. Starting Eleos Consultancy provided the perfect opportunity for this.
Passion for Entrepreneurship: I have always been passionate about entrepreneurship and believe that by empowering business owners, we can contribute to creating more resilient and successful communities.
Overcoming Challenges
The transition was not without its challenges. From balancing financial security with the risks of starting a new venture to overcoming the fear of stepping out of a familiar career path, each obstacle was a learning experience. Here’s how I tackled some of these challenges:
Financial Risk: Conducted thorough market research and developed a detailed business plan to mitigate financial risks.
Fear of Failure: Sought mentorship and support from successful entrepreneurs and business owners.
Building Credibility: Leveraged my existing network and reputation from my previous role to gain initial clients and referrals.
Adapting to Consultancy: Invested in continuous learning and professional development to adapt to the dynamic nature of consultancy.
Marketing and Networking: Utilized online platforms and communities to build a brand and connect with potential clients.
Balancing Work and Life: Established a routine that balanced work, personal life, and self-care to maintain focus and motivation.
Success Stories
Helping Local Businesses Thrive
One of the most rewarding aspects of my work with Eleos Consultancy has been seeing tangible improvements in the businesses we support. Here are a few success stories:
