Hi, my name is Marc; I am a Professional and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and I worked over 20 years, in counselling adults, children and families for a practice in Moonee Ponds – which was sold in 2023, working with a Medical Doctor, various practitioners, and in my own private practice.
I have years of experience counselling clients, children and adults, who have presented with issues such as relationship, self-esteem, anger, stress, abuse, substance abuse, trauma and depression, financial redundancy as well as coaching people who experience life transitions, grief, loss and separation. I have organised workshops in Wellbeing and spiritual development to empower clients to thrive in their day-to-day life. I am a qualified supervisor since 2016 – training recognised by the ACA, Australian Counselling Association and registered as a Supervisor with the AACHP – Australian Association of Clinical Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists, and in this role, I have helped therapists through their career developments and their relationships with clients, ensuring their safety, integrity in their code of ethics, legals and conduct.
I have gained my training with Sheila Granger; the pioneer of Virtual Gastric Band Method originated in the UK.
I am dedicated to supporting individuals in realising their full potential and guiding them to shift their mindset by harnessing the remarkable capabilities of the mind. Through Hypnosis and carefully crafted suggestions, clients can experience the sensation of having undergone a Gastric Band Procedure.
Clients receive a recording designed to support and strengthen the positive transformations achieved.

Grief and Loss - by Marc Ponzi
Grief is a multifaceted response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or something that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed.
Grief is a natural response to loss. It is the emotional suffering one feels when something or someone the individual loves is taken away. The grief associated with death is familiar to most people, but individuals grieve in connection with a variety of losses throughout their lives.
Loss can be categorized as either physical or abstract; the physical loss being related to something that the individual can touch or measure, such as losing a spouse (child, miscarriage, abortion) through death, while other types of loss are abstract, and relate to aspects of a person’s social interactions.
- Loss associated with relationships (including break up or end of relationship, loss of partner, loss of expectation, loss of marital status, loss of support from the spouse in regards to children…)
- Other losses are loss of a limb,
- Loss of internal part of a body,
- Loss of health,
- Loss of mental functioning due to ageing or brain damage,
- Loss of a job,
- Loss of financial status,
- Loss of a home,
- Loss of self-respect,
- Leaving school,
- Retirement…
There is a need to confront the challenges of life incurred by change, and change often involves loss.
Understanding the process and different stages of grieving:
- Shock, in case of a sudden loss.
- Denial, when we cannot believe what has happened is really true, not wanting to accept reality in its entirety.
- Emotional, Psychological and Physical symptoms with feelings of despair, depression, hopelessness and worthlessness. This may lead to insomnia, inability to concentrate, loss of appetite…
- Guilt, because of unfinished business, (when someone has not told the deceased how much they have loved them, or have not apologised for something they have done wrong….)
- Anger, at the medical team or at the deceased for letting them alone….at a parent who died, at a child who died, even angry with god,
- Idealisation, or temporarily forgetting faults or negative characteristics of the deceased, being convinced they loved without reservation.
- Acceptance, or starting to accept the reality and permanence of the loss. Then comes a period active versus passive, a time to take risks with new experiences and a new personal growth.
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross describes 5 Stages of Grief:
+Denial - “this is not happening to me”
+Anger - “Why me?”
+Bargaining - “Yes me, But…”
+Depression - “Yes me…”
+Acceptance - “Yes me…and I am ready”
Life is not static and is full of changes and sometimes those changes are unwanted or unwelcomed.
In a Counselling session, Marc combines his skills and knowledge, healing energy and a variety of models such as Gestalt therapy, Resource therapy, Parts therapy whenever appropriate, to ignite the client's own inner healing abilities.
Marc explores the conventionally focus on the emotional response to loss, the physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, and also the spiritual dimensions.
Hypnosis is also used to help the client have access to their deeper inner truths and spirituality.
