The WA Government has announced its intention to purchase St John of God Mt Lawley Hospital and negotiations are underway. Pending negotiations, the transition of the private hospital into the public health system is expected to be complete in 2026.

Please be assured that the hospital remains open and there is no immediate change to scheduled admissions, surgeries or appointments. Our commitment to the care and safety of our patients during this time remains unchanged.

As planning progresses, most private services will transition to other St John of God Health Care facilities. If your care or appointment is affected, we’ll contact you in advance to discuss next steps and ensure a smooth transition.

We are proud of Mt Lawley’s legacy of compassionate care and are deeply grateful to our caregivers and specialists for their ongoing commitment to providing healing, hope and dignity.

A significant number of our caregivers will be provided the opportunity to take up positions at the new Midland Private Hospital once it opens in 2026.

Immersed with a Hint of Halloween Magic! 🎃

Our Hospital Management Team spent the day shadowing teams in our sterile services department, surgical ward, Ursula Frayne Unit to experience firsthand the essential day-to-day care that our wonderful caregivers provide to our patients.

With a sprinkle of Halloween fun, they wrapped up their visit by delivering treats and plenty of smiles to our caregivers.

We’re so proud of the spirit of teamwork and appreciation that keeps our hospital thriving. 💙

October is National Safe Work Month - a time employers and workers across Australia commit to creating safe and healthy workplaces.

Recently we ran a event for our caregivers and invited Michael Weston, a mental health speaker who shared his own story about a life-changing event.

Michael’s story gave us plenty to think about when it comes to looking after our mental health and spotting the warning signs in ourselves and others. His unique ability to engage and inspire self-reflection truly moved us all.

Thank you, Michael, for sharing your powerful experience and practical strategies for holistic mental health and wellbeing. Your story touched us deeply and reminded us of the importance of supporting one another through stress and pressure.

Let’s continue to listen, reflect, and find simple ways to care for ourselves and each other every day.

During our recent Foundation Day celebrations, we were proud to present Orana House, our Charity of Choice with a cheque for $4,046.15.

A cause close to many people's hearts, Orana House provides stable accommodation, advocacy and holistic support for women and children experiencing family and domestic violence.💜

A huge thank you to our caregivers, whose support through events like our Caregiver Quiz Night made this possible.
