Hi all, a quick February availability update for Alliance Clinics. In-clinic & telehealth services are available now for most disciplines.

We would also like to introduce Emily, a new Dietitian joining our growing Alliance Clinics team in Mackay. For a limited time, we have a 75% discount offer for new clients for one appointment with Emily (see below for details).

Emily is an Accredited Practising Dietitian & Nutritionist with experience in patient-centred nutrition care across acute, community, and outreach settings. Emily provides tailored nutrition education and supports patients to make appropriate food choices within dietary restrictions.

- Ensure you have a couple of days of food supplies, clean water and important medicines
- Avoid contact with floodwater and mud if you are immunocompromised or have diabetes
- Allow extra travel time for your upcoming appointments in case of road closures
- If you are concerned about travel, speak to us about switching to a Telehealth appointment

Meet Cecil, a Mackay man whose life changed when he experienced a stroke. It was a challenging time, but Cecil faced it with determination and courage.

Whilst experiencing changes in all domains of life, one of his biggest goals? Regaining his ability to speak and communicate, as prior to engaging with Speech Pathology he was unable to communicate.
He has been working tirelessly to produce words and phrases again. Every week has been a step forward, and his progress is worth celebrating.

Along the way, Cecil discovered a new passion: bee keeping! Cecil is proud to sell raw honey to the Mackay community, sharing the sweetness of his hard work🐝

In Speech Pathology sessions and with his support worker Hien, Cecil practises words like “honey” and “bee hive”, and phrases such as “I sell honey”, all to help him confidently talk about his business. His therapy goals and his new venture go hand in hand, and the results speak for themselves.

His determination and positivity are inspiring, and his journey shows resilience and dedication. If you’re in Mackay, keep an eye out for Cecil’s honey, it is not only local, but also has an inspiring back story. You can find a link to his honey here:
