Meet Cecil, a Mackay man whose life changed when he experienced a stroke. It was a challenging time, but Cecil faced it with determination and courage.
Whilst experiencing changes in all domains of life, one of his biggest goals? Regaining his ability to speak and communicate, as prior to engaging with Speech Pathology he was unable to communicate.
He has been working tirelessly to produce words and phrases again. Every week has been a step forward, and his progress is worth celebrating.
Along the way, Cecil discovered a new passion: bee keeping! Cecil is proud to sell raw honey to the Mackay community, sharing the sweetness of his hard work🐝
In Speech Pathology sessions and with his support worker Hien, Cecil practises words like “honey” and “bee hive”, and phrases such as “I sell honey”, all to help him confidently talk about his business. His therapy goals and his new venture go hand in hand, and the results speak for themselves.
