I was living the dream.
Skiing in Canada. Raft guiding. The active outdoor lifestyle I'd always wanted.
Then chronic back pain started. I ignored it. Pushed through. Exhausted, struggling to put my socks on.
Then my ACL went snap.
A shiatsu therapist linked it to my back pain. So I paid a chiropractor while going through knee surgery, infection, MRIs, scans.
Sessions went from 50 minutes down to 15 minutes with a cold spray and "see you next week."
Still in pain. ACL ended up loose. Needed a repair.
So I studied kinesiology, shiatsu, got my PT certificate.
But it was a physio who changed everything—she taught me to engage my transverse abdominis using breathing.
That was the turning point.
I used that technique for knee rehab, shoulder rehab, to solve my back pain.
But during rehab I discovered left hip instability. "Tight hip flexors," they said.
I spent YEARS trying to fix it.
Then I landed on my head and broke my back. Got checked out: arthritis of an 80-year-old in my hip, torn rotator cuff.
During all this, I stayed in shape by managing my eating habits.
It's not lack of exercise that makes you overweight—it's stress, boredom, anxiety, and eating habits that ALSO contribute to posture, pain, and recurring injury.
I did bodybuilding comps for a goal. But the real end goal?
Being fit and able-bodied in my later years.
Most people sacrifice health for wealth—then spend retirement in waiting rooms.
My goal: enough wealth AND health to build my own house, live the life I want.
That's what Pain to Power is about.
Not just fixing pain. Getting you back to the life you actually want to live.
