It was difficult not to be tempted by the choice of fashions available from the U&I collection, every garment is designed with our age group in mind. The colours and styles varied through the seasons, giving plenty of options to choose from. Jenny, Margaret R and Karen modeled some of the collection and encouraged ladies to have a close inspection and a fitting room was available. The morning was a success, judging by the ladies lined up to purchase the fashions. Carol and her Team served “high Tea” style refreshments to each table with full waitress service. Thank you to all who helped to ensure the Noyea ladies are well up with the fashion stakes.

ANZAC DAY SERVICE AT NOYEA RIVERSIDE

A large number of residents were in attendance to remember our past and present men and woman of the ADF and their families on ANZAC day. The service was both respectful and moving. The ceremony was led by Di and Gayle, wreaths were laid by John representing RA, Margaret H represented Noyea Residents and Patricia acknowledged the Kiwi part of the ANZACs.

Gunfire breakfast was well received, thanks go out to the men on the BBQs, Carol and her team in the kitchen, Chris, Graham and Annette served the rum and milk while Roy and Rosemary checked us in. Bev provided the pink orchids which were used in the wreaths, Jeff was on the videos and Sharon was busy behind the camera. Many thanks to all who helped present the service or supported it by coming along.

Sip & Scratch afternoons at Noyea Riverside are always popular. The scratch part keeps residents focused on the creative element, while the sip part ensures we have a lot of fun together. There were some interesting examples of personalized bookmarks to take home. Thanks to Carol and Jenny for giving the ladies the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other’s company plus serving afternoon tea and keeping our glasses topped up with the “bubbly”.

Australia Day

The snags were sizzling and the flags were flying when Noyea Riverside residents celebrated Australia Day 2026. The theme of the day shone through on the fashions of the guests, and the table decorations. Coming in from the heat it was refreshing to be greeted by our waiters Chris, Annette & Graham who were in charge of the drink trolley and repeatedly topped up our glasses with sparkling wine or orange juice to “wet our whistles”. Jeff was our DJ and lots of Aussie classics boomed out, the catering crew prepared a true-blue breakfast of snags, bacon & eggs, with plenty for seconds. Jean was invited to cut the Australia Day cake, plus the traditional Lamingtons were on the menu as well. Phillip said a few words around being an Aussie, lucky and raffle prizes were drawn, Chris and Karen looked resplendent in their “True Blue” outfits to be chosen as our best dressed Aussies. Margaret and her team looked after the bar while Kerry handled the ticket sales. Carol and her ladies did a marvelous job preparing and serving the tucker with a few extra hands to help. Lloyd and his crew sweated over the BBQ’s while Di welcomed our very newest arrivals, Keith and Sandra into the Noyea family.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers, some regular faces and some of our new residents joining the volunteer rank, together they all contributed to ensure it was a great day for us all.
