Christmas Raffle Night! What an amazing sight to see a line of tables loaded with such an array of diverse prizes. The room was packed with folk all hoping that perhaps they may have a winning ticket or even 2. Some folk were on a winner several times over while others said “maybe next year “.
On behalf of all those present, Chairperson Llyod paid tribute to Karen and her team who were the masterminds behind the event, he thanked Margaret and her crew in the Bar, and to Carol who along with her ladies were busy in the kitchen. The service from all the volunteers was delivered with a good dose of Christmas cheer which ensured the night was definitely “happy and bright”.
Lloyd presented Darren, Angie, Scott, Dave and David with a gift from the Residents Social Funds as a tribute for their support and service throughout the year, this was endorsed by a hearty cheer from all those present. To witness the camaraderie between our staff and residents is certainly a demonstration of the goodwill shared not only at Christmas but throughout the year. A popular Christmas’s Elf was in attendance direct from the North Pole, bringing Christmas greetings to the folk of Noyea Riverside village direct from Father Christmas.
50% of proceeds going to support Ovarian Cancer research. Noyea Riverside residents combined with the support from RA and local businesses can be commended for their generosity even when costs of living continues to rise.
Thank you to all our volunteers and thank you to everyone who supported the event.

Today, we pause to remember and honour the brave men and women who served, and continue to serve, our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication have secured the freedoms we cherish every day.

At 11am we take a moment of silence to reflect on their service.

Lest we forget.

What happens when our social convenor Carol brings a really cool DJ, his music, a table laden with delicious food, games and competitions, plus free cocktails together in the clubhouse decorated to reflect the theme of the day?

The result – A fun Karaoke afternoon.

The music got folk singing, dancing and clapping along to the music. Some folk attempted to add to the anatomy of the poster lady by re- positioning her b***s! Despite their efforts, the results were hampered by some mischief from the DJ who is normally most dependable, but on this occasion, he showed his true self by tampering with the results. Gael, Rosemary and Dot were the lucky ones who took home a prize. It was so enjoyable that there were requests to do a karaoke function again sometime.

Margaret and Kim were busy serving mouth tempering cocktails behind the bar. The cooks were out in full force donating the afternoon tea to ensure all money raised went to the McGrath Foundation to support Breast Cancer research.

Thank you to all who supported the cause and to those who provided the opportunity.

Carol, our Social Convenor, embraced the Christmas spirit at her recent Sip and Scratch afternoon. Guests were encouraged to wear their Christmas fashions to suit the afternoon’s theme.

The event was twofold, firstly to bring the ladies together, to relax and enjoy each other’s company, secondly to create individual Christmas decorations. The challenge was to scratch the supplied template to create unique decorations for Christmas, the giggles and chatter amongst the ladies was witness to the success of the occasion.

Special thanks to Carol for her effort to ensure it was a fun and relaxing afternoon. A Christmas card with a small token and a personal message of thanks from Carol was appreciated by the guests.

A huge thank you to Angie, Scott, Dave, David, and Darren for another “ripper” Noyea Carnival Day. Residents took the opportunity to show off their skills with the bat n ball, there were some standout stars and loads enthusiasm from the all the competitors. Karen’s stepdaughter Kate had a sharp eye and was bang on with the Jellybean competition, predicting 372, the actual number was 372! Around midday it was upstairs for lunch.

The staff set up the games, offered their tips on how to improve the scores, cooked and served the snags, attended the Bar and cleaned up in the kitchen! Angie took some funny photos at her photo booth.

The day was another example of what our staff will do to ensure the lifestyle here at Noyea Riverside is as good as it gets!

Today we’re celebrating the dads, grandads, stepdads and father figures who bring wisdom, support, and the (occasional) dad joke to our communities.

Whether you’re sharing a laugh with loved ones, passing on a bit of advice, or just enjoying a quiet moment (with your feet up and a few liquorice allsorts, hopefully!). We hope your day is a great one.

Happy Father’s Day, and thanks for everything you do.
