A brilliant initiative! TradeMutt & Bunnings teaming up to support the mental health of our tradies on the 26th July! All proceeds go to TIACS free counselling for tradies. Go you good thing!

What are you supposed to write when you’re completely lost for words?

Ed and I are incredibly proud to announce our biggest ever partnership. Bunnings Trade and TradeMutt have joined forces to start a conversation about mental health among tradies right around the country.

As an Australian cultural icon for everyone from tradies, handypeople, DIY’ers and weekend warriors alike, Ed and I could not have possibly dreamt up a bigger activation with a more appropriate or recognisable brand. Over the last two years the TradeMutt, TIACS and Bunnings teams have worked tirelessly to bring this collaboration to life, with which success will ensure the long term future of TIACS and allow us to employ more counselors to meet further demand.

On July 26 at 7am, every Bunnings in Australia will be hosting a Funky Shirt Friday brekky where you’ll be able to get your hands on our exclusive Bunnings Trade conversation starting work shirt and drink bottle with 100% of the proceeds from this activation being donated to TIACS, ensuring that no tradie or blue collar worker ever has to walk alone.

Knowing how limited these shirts are, we want to ensure that the TradeMutt community has every chance to plan their Funky Shirt Friday trip to Bunnings and jag what will be sure to be a collectors edition shirt before they sell out.

Thanks to every tradie, truckie, farmer or blue collar ally that has ever supported TradeMutt and TIACS because there is no way we would ever have ended up here without you. Your continued support has allowed us to ensure that no one who ever finds themselves in the trenches ever has to walk alone.

Mindkeys has put down the pen and is taking an extended coffee break, in the form of a short sabbatical.

Time away from face to face consultations in Mudgee, will enable me to engage in some further study and recharge my batteries. It is anticipated that face to face consultations in Mudgee, will resume in late January 2023.

Please note that there will be no change to existing online consultations.

The Beatles were right! "Let it be," is good advice. "Let it go'" doesn't work.

What does it mean to be mindful?

Being mindful means to bring your awareness & attention to the present moment. We have busy minds & we often try to do many things at once. We think multi tasking is doable & effective; its not, but that's a whole other post. Being completely aware & focused on the present moment is being mindful. Try doing or thinking about one thing at a time. Smelling a rose & really being in the moment. Drinking that cup of coffee or tea & really noticing the flavour, temperature, aroma, texture and how it feels when swallowed. It is a totally different experience, to guzzling a cup of something while writing an email, answering a call, watching tv. Try it & notice the difference. Did you feel more calm & peaceful?

Mindful March is calling. Which day/s of this month will you engage in being more mindful?

Our Story

Kim Michelle Hansen Counsellor Neuropsychotherapist Clinical Hypnotherapist Clinical Supervisor Special Education Consultant

Being a child, adolescent and young adult specialist, with over 30 years experience, my passion for working with young people was realised when I began my career as a teacher, in both primary and high school settings. I later specialized in the area of learning difficulties. I have successfully combined my knowledge of neuroscience, child and adolescent development, learning and behaviour with Clinical Neuropsychotherapy, Counselling, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Special Education, to support good mental health and wellbeing.

This unique array of skills enables me to work therapeutically, while appreciating the difficulties experienced by young people, as they navigate family life, independence, relationships and dealing with the pressures of school, TAFE or University and career.

I regularly attend ongoing professional development in the form of conferences, workshops and study, to keep me informed and up to date on current good mental health practices. My special area of interest is in working with teens and young adults with anxiety & depression.
