For example, rent, insurance, and alternative therapies like crystals or “cuddle therapy” can’t be claimed under NDIS funding. If funding is used incorrectly, you may be asked to repay it.

If you aren’t already aware, since 2 October 2025, there’s has been no more grace period for using NDIS funding on supports that are not approved.

If an expense isn’t on the official support list, NDIA may ask you to repay it, even for amounts under $1,500.
