We welcome you to join us for the official opening of The Elder Tree Educational Medicine Garden, which is nestled in the larger Mullum Gardens Eco Hub in Mullumbimby. We will also be having our autumn equinox AGM (annual general meeting) at the same time.

This is a very exciting time for us as we have been working hard since September last year to get the plan, structure and flow of the garden complete so that it is ready to plant lots of potent medicine for our community!

It feels far from “complete” but nature is cyclic and ever expanding and evolving so come join us for one moment in time to celebrate and love up the gardens!

All are welcome and we will provide afternoon tea and herbal beverages.

At The Elder Tree Educational Medicine Garden, we will hold regular classes, courses, workshops and events and the medicine garden will be an educational garden for students. We will also produce medicine from the garden that will go to volunteers and surplus will be gifted to those in need/sold at a low cost for fundraising.

We are so excited to be doing our part in building community resilience through herbal medicine education and potent medicine availability.

1.45pm: Arrive
2.00: Welcome, serve herbal tea, introductions
2.30: Plant meditation with Stephanie Hazel
2.45: AGM (Annual General Meeting)
3.45: Afternoon tea
4.15: Group prayer and intention setting with the Communitea pot
5.15: Sharing circle- share a bit more about the vision and plans for TET and welcome community input and questions.
We encourage everyone to bring herb cuttings/plants for the garden and also any they might like to sell or trade on the day.

Please RSVP by email so that we know you are coming (this is very important):

Join us for a hands-on day of Earth tending with herbs, hearts and community as we gather to create.

Together we’ll build a beautiful herb spiral garden—an Earth altar honouring the directions, the elements and the spirits of the Land. In collaboration, we’ll create a meaningful, practical and productive space for growing medicinal and culinary herbs.

This workshop is perfect for organic gardeners and anyone inspired by the philosophy that Food is Medicine.
Come learn simple, regenerative garden design while connecting with herbs, land and community.

8am-2pm
Thurs 19th March
Mullumbimby
By donation (recommend $25-$35)

This workshop will be facilitated by the wonderful Annaliese Hordern, and will be the first workshop to be held at The Elder Tree Educational Medicine Garden, which is nestled within a larger community called the Mullum Gardens Eco-Hub.

Bring a hat, water bottle, and your love of gardening

This workshop is by donation though bookings are essential. Book your tickets here:

Our charity The Elder Tree is looking for artists to make signs, sculptures and carved wooden poles for our not- for- profit educational medicine garden in Mullumbimby (see photos for inspiration).
We would love to particularly find artists to support our cause who are happy to volunteer some hours to help with this or offer a reduced rate- we will pay for all materials.

We also plan to apply for some grants to support herbal art so there are fully paid opportunities coming up too.

Please get in touch if you would love to help us to make a beautiful educational garden from which we will grow potent herbal medicine and sorry the health of our community through empowering classes, courses and events.
