Our aim is to give our patients the highest possible quality of care, by ensuring excellence in all aspects of our practice. We endeavour to provide patients with the best and most current treatments, methods, materials and equipment within our resource capabilities to ensure that the patients receive the high quality of service they have come to expect. Teamwork is highly valued and encouraged within the practice to promote a harmonious and productive environment. We hold great importance in ethical and responsible behaviour as essential to maintain the trust and loyalty of our patients and staff. It is the role of this clinic to provide a caring environment that is safe, welcoming and peaceful for all patients. We respect the right of individuals, and will attempt to treat patients promptly and courteously. We request the patient, in turn, to treat the staff and other patients with respect, and to refrain from shouting, swearing or engaging in other inappropriate behaviour which may cause harm or distress to themselves or others. The GPs at this practice bulk bill for all prevention and care planning appointments (health assessments, team care arrangements, GP management plan), pensioners, Health Care Card holders and children under the age of 16 years old. DVA Gold Card holders are asked to sign the service voucher. Otherwise, our fees are $69 for a standard consultation and $103.65 for a long consultation, with a Medicare rebate of $37.05 and $71.70, respectively. Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, cheque, MasterCard or Visa. The AMA fee structure forms the basis of our billing policy and is displayed in the reception area of the surgery.

Violet Town Medical Centre- run by Murchison Medical Clinic, a known and trusted GP clinic for over 20 years. It is a 100% bulk billing practice*.

This new service is the first step in a larger plan to secure a permanent, full-time medical
centre for Violet Town.

To achieve the crucial next step of accreditation, our goal is to see a minimum of 50 unique patients so there are enough medical records for the accreditation visit.

Think of this as our collective launchpad. You will be investing in the long-term medical
services for our entire town.

What Happens When We Reach Our Goal?

Once we have 50 patients, we can schedule the accreditation visit. Shortly after a successful
visit, we will be able to:
· Expand our days and hours to offer more appointment availability.
· Bring in additional doctors with a range of special interests, giving you more choice.
· Establish a permanent, robust medical centre that Violet Town can rely on for years to come.
· The addition of a pathology service in 2026

We envision a bustling local clinic where you can see a familiar, friendly faces without
travelling long distances, a clinic that grows with our families and supports our seniors.

Important announcement that will help more patients access affordable health care at Murchison Medical Clinic.

From tomorrow the 1st November, Murchison Medical Clinic will be a fully Bulk Billing Practice* for those who have a valid Medicare card.

What does that mean for you as a patient?
All doctor's consults and preventative care appointments with our team of nurses will be bulk billed.

*Some items for example, procedures & iron infusions will still incur an out of pocket fee. Our reception team will advise any out of pocket costs in advance where possible prior to these appointments.
