Here's something to try gor that frustrating lime scale
Limescale is the chalky off-white crust that you find inside your kettle, on your shower screens, taps and and stains your surfaces.
Scientifically speaking (cause I am so scientifically minded) limescale is a deposit of calcium carbonate and a residue left behind by hard water.
We had limescale on one of our shower screens at our old house for a while.
I had seen this Lime Scale Remover recipe many times, but it seemed too good to be true! All it has is Water, Bicarb Soda, Lemon and Lime essential oils. Thatโs it!
So I made some of this paste and gave it a try.
I rubbed it lightly over the limescale and left it for about 10 mins (was supposed to be 20 but I was in a rush ) Then I gave it a light rub with a cloth, I was barely putting any effort in as I really wanted to trial the paste. I then rinsed off and used a cloth to help remove any residue.
The results were so good that I was seriously impressed.
Below is the limescale remover recipe and it is surprisingly effective. It is really simple to make and easy to use.
What you need:
1/2 cup Bicarb Soda
3 Tablespoons Water
10 drops Lemon Essential Oils
10 drops Lime Essential Oils
What you do:
Add water and essential oils to bicarb soda.
Mix into a paste.
Rub a small amount onto surface.
Let sit for 20 minutes.
Wipe off with wet cloth.
We would love to see some before and afters when giving this a try! Let us know how you go!
