When an emergency happens, every second counts — especially when it comes to communicating your exact location. The Emergency+ app is a free, Australian‑developed tool that helps you contact the right service quickly and provide accurate location details to emergency call‑takers.

Developed by Australia’s emergency services and government partners, the app uses your phone’s GPS (and in many cases what3words technology) to display your precise coordinates — making it easier for emergency responders to find you.

What the Emergency+ App Is Used For:
❗ Call Triple Zero (000) with one tap for police, fire or ambulance emergencies.
❗ Share your exact GPS location with emergency call‑takers, improving accuracy and response times.
❗ Access other important contacts, including SES (132 500) and the Police Assistance Line (131 444), ensuring non‑emergency calls go to the right place.
❗ Use what3words, which provides a 3‑word identifier for your 3×3m location — especially helpful in remote or unmarked areas.

The app is free and available on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Simply search “Emergency+” and tap Download.

Once installed, allow location access so the app can display your coordinates during an emergency — this is essential for it to function properly.
