You are invited to join the Birth Wellness Collective

Now that Birth Stories on Stage has taken its final bow,
and planning is underway for the Birth Wellness Festival,
it feels like the right time to grow the Birth Wellness Collective.

Our vision has always been to bring together women, families, and birth workers to share knowledge, resources, and real experiences. We honour that there are many ways to birth, and many paths to get there.

This collective is grounded in a simple and powerful belief:
that the body knows how to give birth.

And when offered the right support and information, women will learn to trust their own intuition and make choices that lead to the birth they truly want.

This is also about being part of a shift,
moving birth out of fear,
and back into trust, confidence, and even excitement.

Because birth is a profound rite of passage.
And the way we birth our babies matters.

If this speaks to you, whether you are a parent-to-be,
a birth worker, or a practitioner supporting pregnancy and postpartum,

You are warmly invited 💛

BIRTH STORIES ON STAGE
Takes a final Bow.

After weeks of preparation, we came together on Wednesday night at M|Arts for a magical evening.

To the women who stood on that stage and shared their stories
Thank you for your courage, your honesty, and your willingness to share your story and be seen.

Thank you to the partners who supported from behind the scenes, holding home and family while this came together.

To the babies, Earthside and in spirit, who inspired these stories, we honour you.

And to everyone who came, listened, and was moved,
This is how we begin to change the way birth is seen and experienced

Birth Stories on Stage was created as a fundraiser for the Birth Wellness Festival, a community-led vision to educate, support, and empower women and families in birth.

We couldn’t have done this without the support of the incredible mamas and families in our community.

With deep gratitude to everyone who made this evening possible 💛

We are excited to hear Solitaire’s talk in between the storytellers!

Solitaire is a local mother of two young children, aged 4 and 2, both born at home with the support of two midwives through the public midwifery group practice.

She is a registered nurse with over 15 years’ experience in neurosurgery, trauma, and ICU. These days, she dedicates her time to motherhood on their 7-acre farm, raising her children while enjoying the richness of the local landscape and community.

Through her own journey into motherhood, she has developed a deep passion for supporting women and families to feel empowered through knowledge during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She believes birth is both a physical and spiritual experience that deserves to be held with respect—recognising that “safe” looks different for everyone.

Solitaire is currently the consumer representative for a NSW Health working group reviewing birthing services at Murwillumbah Hospital, and is open to connecting with community members who wish to share their experiences and have a voice in shaping local care.

Solitaire is a local mother of 2 beautiful children, aged 4 and 2. They were both born in their family home with the presence of 2 midwives under the public midwifery group practice.
Solitaire has been a registered nurse for over 15 years, with a background in neurosurgery/trauma and ICU.
These days, she prefers to spend her time soaking in the early years of motherhood on their 7 acre farmstead- with her two little ones in tow, and adventuring around in the wonderful scenery and experiences that our local area has to offer.

Since her own birthing in to motherhood, her heart space is filled with the desire for women (and their families) to feel power through knowledge for their pregnancy, birth and postpartum care and support. The birthing space is a physical and spiritual journey that should be guarded and held in reverence… Everyone’s ‘safe’ looks different.
Solitaire is the current consumer representative for a NSW health working group that are reviewing the birthing services at Murwillumbah hospital. As consumer representative, she is willing to connect with anyone in the community who wishes to have a say about local birthing services.
