The Arcade in Murwillumbah, Cnr Wharf St and Queen St. Built in 1952, the building of the Tweed Arcade was big news for Murwillumbah; it was the biggest shopping centre in town at the time. The arcade was to comprise of ten shops and a café and was much anticipated by local residents, who viewed it as a very modern building that “conformed to overseas trends”. The building was designed by Doug Board, son of Frederick Board, who designed the Austral and Marlville buildings.

Shop 33 Wharf Street has been LEASED!!!
There has been quite a lot of interest in this lovely shop. The local business plans to move in NEXT WEEK! We’d also like to give a big thank you to Garry and Alison Paget Painting for their workmanship on the walls but in particular the wonderful job they did with the old timber floors.
