In May 1921, American polymath Walter Russell entered a 39-day coma-like state, during which he claimed to have accessed “the source of all knowledge.” Upon awakening, he frantically wrote down what he had seen—pages filled with philosophical, scientific, and spiritual revelations that would later form the foundation of his manuscript *The Universal One*. Though he sent his findings to 500 leading minds of the time, nearly all dismissed him as mad—except one. Nikola Tesla, the visionary inventor, was so struck by Russell’s insights that he urged him to seal the work away for a thousand years, insisting that humanity was not yet ready for its truths.

Walter Russell’s revelations reimagined the very structure of reality. He argued that matter was not solid but crystallized light slowed by thought—that everything around us, from rocks to human bodies, was composed of light patterns, shaped by consciousness. He believed the universe was fundamentally mental, not material, and that all things moved in rhythmic cycles—expansion and contraction, like breath. He dismissed opposites like good and evil as illusions, asserting instead that everything sought harmony and balance. To Russell, death wasn’t an end but the release of compressed light returning to its source. Even time, he claimed, wasn’t linear, but a spiral where past, present, and future coexisted.

These ideas were radically ahead of their time, blending metaphysics, wave dynamics, and a deep sense of universal unity. He believed electricity was a living spiral of energy, not merely electrons in motion, and that the vacuum of space was in fact a vibrant sea of untapped potential. Health, in his view, was the natural rhythm of the body, and disease was simply a disruption of that flow. Though ignored or ridiculed during his lifetime, Russell’s work now draws new attention in an era where quantum physics and consciousness studies begin to echo the same questions. To many, he is no longer a forgotten eccentric, but a prophet of a paradigm yet to come.

Beyond Time: Living as the Timeless Self. We often think life moves like a straight line: past, present, future. We imagine growth as step-by-step, always moving forward. But the soul does not experience life that way. Awareness does not move, it observes.

Sometimes the past does not stay behind us. It shows up unexpectedly, in memories, emotions, or energetic sensations, like a sentence that was never finished. We call it memory, but the soul experiences it as presence. Moments we think are gone are still alive within the consciousness.

Time, as the mind sees it, is linear. But from the perspective of the soul, it is layered. All moments exist together. The child you were, the adult you are, and the person you will become are not separated by years. They coexist within the same field of conscious awareness.

Trauma makes this layering visible. Painful experiences can feel as real as the present moment. Healing is not about leaving the past behind. It is about moving through it revisiting old experiences with understanding and compassion. Each time we do, what was once painful becomes meaningful.

Carl Jung described something similar as synchronicity: moments that appear coincidental but reveal a deeper order. These moments remind us that nothing we have lived is ever wasted. We are not haunted by the past; we are in conversation with it. Time does not heal by erasing, it heals by helping us integrate experiences until the past, present, and future are seen as one unfolding whole.

If time is how the mind measures life, the Self is the awareness that notices it. The deepest part of you, the soul does not age, does not change, and is not limited by events. Personality and identity are shaped by memory and expectation, but the awareness behind them is constant.

The soul experiences all moments together. The child you once were, the adult you are, and the future self you imagine exist in the same timeless space. Time is not a chain. It is a landscape where every moment is alive at once.

When we are still and fully present, we can sense this timelessness. Life feels connected, and nothing is truly lost. Every difficulty, joy, mistake, and lesson exists within the same unfolding now.

Living from this awareness does not mean ignoring the world. Life still flows, the body changes, events happen, relationships evolve. But when we recognise our true self as timeless, change feels less threatening. What is essential cannot be lost. We live fully in the world while understanding that all life unfolds within our awareness.

Awakening is not escaping time. It is seeing time clearly: as a reflection of the eternal within the temporal. The self that lives, feels, and learns is not the same as the awareness that observes it. That awareness is calm, spacious, and present and is what we truly are.

Living in Timeless Awareness: Awakening to the timeless Self is not just a concept, it can be lived every day. Pause and Notice. Take moments throughout the day to stop and observe. Notice your breath, your body, your surroundings. Awareness does not need to act; it only needs to witness.

Observe Thoughts and Emotions Without Judgment: Memories, worries, or repeated emotions often pull us into the past or future. Watch them as passing events in consciousness. They are not who you are; they are experiences happening within you.

Reconnect with the Body: Your body is a bridge between the temporal and the timeless. Pay attention to sensations: your heartbeat, the feeling of your feet on the ground, the rhythm of your breathing. The body anchors you in the present while connecting you to awareness.

Reflect on Patterns: Notice recurring feelings, relationships, or challenges. They are not random; they are invitations to see yourself more clearly. Each recurrence is a chance to meet your past with understanding and compassion.

Embrace Life as a Spiral, Not a straight Line: Growth is not moving forward in a straight line. Life unfolds in cycles, revisiting the same lessons in different forms. Each time, awareness deepens, and the soul learns to integrate what once felt fragmented.

Practice Gratitude for Each Moment: When you recognise the eternal in every moment, ordinary experiences gain meaning. Gratitude helps you see that nothing is wasted, and every experience contributes to awakening.

Meditate on Timelessness: Spend a few minutes each day in silence, resting in awareness. Let thoughts, memories, and plans arise and pass like clouds. Through this practice, you connect with the unchanging presence that observes all life.

Living in timeless awareness does not completely remove you from the world. You still act, love, work, and engage with life fully. But each action is deeply based in presence, and each moment becomes an opportunity to remember who you are beyond the story of time.

The past and future exist within, the present is all we have, and our awareness — the timeless Self — is always here, witnessing, whole, and free.

Allow Love In. That's from other people, other sources, and it's also from yourself, because it will magnify in us when we do allow love in. My guides, the Z's, said, "The heart is a magnet when it's full." That when we're full and our hearts feel full and we feel connected, we're very magnetic because we're holding and living with that energy inside us. Some days, you've got to find it yourself. Some days, the world outside you doesn't seem to be sending good vibes your way.

So you go, "Okay. What are the things, the practices, the tools, the music, the things I like to read, the things I like to do that I can just plug into for five, 10, 15 minutes? I will bring my focus back to love." And equally, on other days, we have those earth angels out there who give us that big smile or that hug, or someone reaches out and it touches you when you were a little untouchable or a little held back. Allow love in. That also is why we have to stick with our mentors, our friends, and our community wisdom at the moment. We need that net, that energy net. Allow love in from others and yourself, because it will magnify when you do. You will become full, and you will be able to emanate and give more.

I’ve dedicated my life’s work to understanding trauma and teaching people how to heal. I believe we have family systems and wider systems that create traumatic environments. These environments shape our personality, our self image, and how we relate to other people.

Unprocessed trauma puts people into survival mode. Life is lived in the defensive. In survival mode our nervous system is primed to protect us from threats. We struggle to have empathy, to collaborate, or to have higher patterns of thinking. Survival behaviors can be highly dysfunctional. They’re learned by the coping mechanisms we witness from adults as children.

Trauma symptoms and responses come up most in interpersonal relationships. The more intimate and close the relationship, the more pronounced the responses.

In order to heal our trauma we need 2 main things:

1. Self compassion: I’ve had experiences that have led me to behaviors that keep me safe.

2. Self accountability: I am responsible for my responses—how they impact me and others.

It can feel incredibly infuriating to know we carry these behaviors from our past. We might feel angry or like we shouldn’t have to deal with them, and that’s valid. But as adults, we do need to deal with them. We do need to face the mirror. We do need to say: I didn’t cause this, but I will learn healthier ways to cope with life around me.

When we engage in unsafe, hurtful, or dysfunctional behaviors *and we all engage in these behaviors* we can pause, reflect, forgive ourselves and commit to doing better.

We can be the adult our younger self needed.

We can build the healthy relationship few of us ever saw.

We can break the cycle of dysfunction by committing to learning, growing, and evolving beyond our primitive lizard brain.

We can say: I will live in safety and that safety starts with me

Maybe your mother was the perfect mother.

Maybe she carried you

bled for you

sang to you

smiled at you

nurtured you and marveled in you.

Maybe she understood your essence

and was patient and let you unfold

in your own time and in your own way

honoring the heart of you all the while.

Maybe your mother cared for you;

Maybe she was there for you

long past childhood days.

Maybe your mother worked for you

cooked for you

sewed for you.

Maybe your mother listened to you

held space for you

Maybe your mother laughed with you

played with you

stayed with you through all your years.

Maybe your mother protected you,

But

Maybe she neglected you

rejected you.

Maybe she abandoned you

hard-handed you

betrayed you

flayed you.

Maybe your mother couldn’t mother.

Maybe your mother forgot you

lost interest

grew cold.

Maybe she never really loved you.

Maybe you were just her duty

for a little while.

Maybe your mother did the best she could

with what she had.

Maybe she was sick or sad.

Maybe her mother was bitter or bad

and hurt her in her deepest parts.

Now

Maybe you are a mother.

Maybe you are a perfect mother.

Maybe you pour abundant love into

your daughters, your sons.

Maybe you delight in them.

Maybe you struggle

Maybe you feel exhausted

resentful

lost and unseen.

Maybe you feel nothing.

Maybe you are just surviving.

Maybe you are not a mother

but long to be a mother

Maybe you mother others.

Maybe you don’t want to be a mother;

will never be a mother

Yet

We all need a mother

Yes, we do

And maybe there is a perfect mother

just for you.

She is the mother of your mother

and your mother’s mother

and back as far as the eye can see

or mind can know

or soul can feel

to the first mother.

Lie on the grass and feel Her heart.

You were formed of Her earth.

You come from Her waters.

Her winds kiss your cheek eternally.

Her rains cry with you when you cry

and wash your wounds.

She will heal you

nourish you

wait for you.

She will give you beauty

give you joy

give you new life

again and again.

She will always be there

to enfold you in Her embrace

when at last you return —

Maybe you have the perfect mother . . .
