It was James who inspired me to look to Nature and colour because that was how he survived and thrived in his life. Sadly, we lost James in 2019 when he passed away following a fall from his push bike despite wearing a so-called safety helmet. We now look at ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐ as his legacy. ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐ concept and technique has helped us through this and all other difficult times since. Also, we wish to remind people that we need better quality safety helmets for protection. So here is our legacy message to honour our son on the anniversary of his passing.
Each year, on or about the 11 February, the anniversary of the day we lost our son, James (following his fall from a push bicycle even though he was wearing a so-called safety helmet) we do something to honour him, and as a legacy from him to us all. This year we are focussing on the issue of safety for cyclists. Here is a public notice, letter to an Editor, or it could be a community concern article, that we would dearly love you to publish, if you can and will.

It is now seven years since we lost our son, James Edwin, following a fall from a push bicycle despite wearing a safety helmet. The pain never goes away. Our only hope is that others can learn from such an accident. As a tribute to James, we offer this advice.
If you ride a push bike, even more so, if you ride a motorised one, please, as much for the sake of those who love and need you, as for yourself, always wear a safety helmet (of the right type!). Make it a routine habit. You never know when an accident will occur. An accident is an accident!
It can be made compulsory by law to wear safety helmets, if need be, but please apply plain common sense, given the traffic situation and road designed space, both a safety helmet and appropriate clothing are a must. With children, parents are responsible for keeping an eye on their children how and where they go. Please take on that responsibility. As for us as a community, if we have the opportunity when we see someone riding a bike but not wearing a safety helmet, we can easily indicate in a polite and obviously caring tone and manner, point that error out to them.
This message is both a tribute to our son, James Edwin, and a measure of our concern, as Elders surviving, for the welfare of all in our community. Stay wise and stay safe.
