AFDO is looking for people with intellectual disability to help review our Easy Read documents.

This role involves occasional work, when we have Easy Read documents ready for review. There is no regular commitment, and you can choose when you are available.

Your feedback will help us make sure our information is clear, respectful and easy to understand.

This is a paid opportunity.
No special skills or experience are needed.
You can take part with a support person.

Supported Employment & Advocacy Workshop 💼

Want to learn how employment can work alongside the Disability Support Pension (DSP) and what supports are available? Join our friendly and accessible workshop designed to support people to feel confident and informed.

This session is for people with intellectual disability, their families, carers and supporters. Together, we’ll explore:

✅ What the DSP is and how it works
✅ How much you can earn while receiving the DSP
✅ What changes when you start a job
✅ How to report your income to Centrelink

This workshop has been designed by and for people with intellectual disability, alongside carers, families and supporters to make sure the information is clear, practical and relevant to real life.

Maryborough Peer Group is BACK for 2026… and we’re kicking things off with creativity, connection and cake (because every good catch-up needs cake 🍰😉).

Join us on Wednesday, 11 February at the Maryborough Neighbourhood Centre from 10am – 1pm for a relaxed and creative morning of rock painting. Whether you’re a Picasso in the making or just keen to give it a go, this is a great chance to unwind, have fun and connect with others.

We’re seeking your feedback on the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) 2025 program. Your input will help shape IDPwD 2026.

The survey includes questions about how:
-you recognised IDPwD 2025
-useful you found our resources
-we can better support your IDPwD activities in 2026.

The survey is open until 11.59 pm AEDT on Monday, 9 February. It’s anonymous and takes about 10 to 15 minutes.
