🎉Congratulations!
Violette’s dedication to her craft of Musical Theatre sure is paying off. She auditioned via video with a monologue, song and dance to the NSW State Wide Combined Schools Musical, an exciting new initiative by the Arts Unit AND GOSH, did she come out strong! First, she was shortlisted for a leading part (in Theatre this is called a Call Back) where her family were happy to drive her to Sydney for an in person audition (kudos to you guys!). She obviously blew them away as she was later awarded the LEAD role in Mary Poppins! Mary - I mean Violette, will engage in intensive rehearsals throughout the winter school holidays, leading up to a top quality production in Murwilimbah. I can’t wait to work with you in singing to get your version of Poppins ‘spit spot s**c and span’ for all of the beautiful whimsical, melodic songs in preparation to the big production week!
In the meantime we all shall be singing “Um di**le di**le di**le um di**le ay…”

For those who don’t know Violette, she is not only a gifted singer with a well-developed tone, but her performances stand out for their musical precision combined with bold acting choices. She has a natural ability to connect with her audience and always remains focused on supporting the story.

Congratulations, Violette! What a role and what wonderful, consistent practice you do. Mary suits you.☂

Arlo at Sydney Theatre Company for work experience! We love your work ethic & creative flair, Arlo. You have a bright future ahead.

“In the middle of 2025, I was given the incredible opportunity to participate in Sydney Theatre Company’s Work Experience week. I filmed my audition tape in my kitchen and talked about my dream of focusing more on inclusivity and diversity within the theatre industry, and, amazingly, was one of 23 people chosen out of over 100 applicants.

The week itself was held in STC’s company building, where I was involved in workshops focused on all parts of the theatre industry, from acting and directing to playwriting and philanthropy! Alongside the workshops, we were given a complete tour of the building and saw one of the companies performances alongside a QnA with the actors.

STC Work Experience was wonderful and taught me so much about the industry. Alongside this, and arguably more importantly, the week provided me with connections and friends I won’t ever forget.”
